i didn't delete anything josh, i think it must have been ron or darth who did it, as i only have the power to alter not to delete ( not a jedi yet... just an apprentice) . i was quite happy to leave it, it was funny, and just intended to lighten the mood.

Josh, I started to delete the thread. I didn't know who had changed the posts, I just noticed that the last few had been altered so I posted pointing that out and saying I would delete them. MaInly, because like you I'm not a huge fan of changing people's posts after they are made, ok SOMETIMES it can be funny, but other times it's just annoying. As I said in another thread (or maybe earlier in this one) a few of us older members have the "power" to change posts in Off topic and ONLY in Off topic. Mainly because that's where we, older members, used to come to hurl abuse at each other!
Once I started to delete the posts in that thread I realised that whoever had changed it had changed pages of it. As I could only delete it post by post, and as I am a lazy bastard (you should all know that by now) once I realised, I posted accordingly and left it for a Mod or Edd to sort out.
The fact it has all been deleted now is probably for the best. Some of what Jayjedi had written (I only found out it was him, AFTER I had given up trying to delete it) was quite funny, and EVERYONE in the thread got the piss taken out of them, himself included. It sounded like a gay love in, and anyone reading it from the outside would have known it was a wind up.
Everyone now knows about Han's questionable auctions (I'm calling them that and nothing else, simply to avoid re-opening a can of worms.....again) and the fact the thread was changed kind of removes any point in keeping it. We can't un-change it and re-instate all the posts, and there is no point in re-starting the thread. I understand where Jayjedi was coming from in changing it all, he wanted to try and lighten the mood and make people laugh rather than bitch. Personally I wasn't too impressed when I saw my posts had been changed, but the thread is gone now so I'm not gonna worry about it any more. Yes, it's annoying, yes (much as it pains me to say it) some of it was funny, but at the end of the we all come on here for a laugh and to learn a few things about SW etc.
Maybe some people on here are more laid back than others, or perhaps it's a case of some people taking offence at comments that another wouldn't even bat an eye lid at; either way I just wanna stick the whole thing behind us and get back to the way we were before. Talking about general rubbish and ocassionally when we get bored SW!

Thanks for the explanation Weasel! Changing other people post is just lame in my book thats all! I wouldn't do that to someone elses myself so unless I have crossed the line I dont expect it to be done to mine that is all!

Josh, Jayjedi isn't normally one to go changing posts either, he did it to try and lighten the mood. I just think some people thought he was doing it to have a go or to score cheap points (I can't speak for him) but that's not the impression I got, and I've 'known' Jayjedi a bit longer than a few of you.

no offence but noone should change peoples posts unless reason to do so, not just for a laugh to have ppl saying things they didnt.. thats why i virtually stopped posting here for months because ppl were ****ing around with my quotes and I am not a ****ing kid and dont like being treated like one
obviously this was done in good humour but on one occasion when someone changed my post i changed it back but not only did they change it again but a third time too ! and never owning up to it....then its a different ****ing story
