Hi folks!

I stumbled across the forum yesterday and thought Id sign up.

I will probably be on it more so out of interest and for having a nosey rather than contributing anything worthwhile – not because I wouldn't want to, I just dont have the knowledge.

Anyways, basically Im only planning on picking a few things up that I used to have for a 'retro' display in the corner of a room, at least I hope thats where it ends as I have neither the room nor the money for anything else! Lol. (Ive picked up an x wing to get me started – shock!! lol)

Im sort of only looking for a couple of the more iconic vehicles and figures that people who weren't big star wars fans would still recognise and appreciate when they see them..plus anything else that may take my fancy!!

What I am amazed at when browsing ebay etc is the amount of figures and vehicles etc I had back when I was younger and I guess that was much the same for a lot of you - minus those who have kept their collections and built them up from all those years ago.

So thats it really, just thought it best to say hello first in case I need to ask any questions with buying advice etc

Thanks
Gary

Hi,
I've just joined, I don't have anything yet, im 40, married with kids and trying to re live my youth. I'm still gutted that when I left home at 16 I found out my mother quickly gave all my star wars stuff away.
I will probably start collecting loose until the funds permit then hopefully add a few mocs.
I live in Newcastle.

Most of us are still coming to terms with this :D

First of all, please please don't rush. The first thing you said was i've just joined, I don't have anything yet.
Take your time, believe me, don't rush, Vintage SW will be around for longer than you will be. Enjoy the forum and soak up the knowledge.

Welcome to the board.

It might not have felt so bad if she had sold them rather than give them to a neighbour who was a keen car booter! Thanks for the welcome guys, I won't be rushing as I haven't decided what I fancy concentrating on, plus I'm a bit OCD so would like to get quality rather than quantity.

I have just started to collect vintage figures. I took me over 30 years to get over my mum giving my star wars collection to some kid she used to teach

Hi all, I've just joined the forum for general info and purchases as I've recently started collecting and fleabay makes me feel slightly nauseous!

Name: Andy
Kids: 1 (4weeks old)
Pets: 1 miniature schnauzer
Job: investment management

Age old story, mum sold Star Wars figures at car boot when I was too young to object, have bought a few pieces over the years when I stumble across them but recently decided to start a small collection of my favourites from when I was a kid. I used to have the ewok village so I guess ewoks are my favourite but not exclusively!

This is a great forum, still got all my original toys safely stored at parents house but, my lofts full of Star Wars Lego, my wife's thinks it's great I can buy stuff for £10, she's frightening of spiders so won't go in the loft, if she did KABOOM!!!!
I'm thinking of dipping my toe in a bit more but, I've always bought stuff because I've loved it, resale/investment is secondary.
Anyway hello.

Hi everyone
Just a quick post to introduce myself to the forum. My name is Rich and I've just got back onto collecting SW after a nearly 30yr absence!
A couple of weeks ago I cleared my mum's loft in order to give my collection to my 4 yro son only to take them all back from him the same afternoon! From looking at the value of my stuff I've gone full circle and decided to complete my collection so please excuse any newbie questions I may have! Cheers

I recently was having a clear out and came across my old star wars collection. It was the first time I'd seen it since the 1980's. The memories came back and I became interested again. Unfortunately many of my star wars vehicles and playsets were missing parts. So I naturally looked at ebay to see if it was possible to buy them. After spending too much time catching up on the world of star wars minature collecting I stumbled across this forum and noticed what a great place it was for this hobby. Hi everyone. :)
