Welcome Jim! Another teacher- what age do you teach?

Thanks all.

I am a head of Upper School at a secondary school Cazzavr, responsible for years 10 and 11. Hormones and that. Regularly drop in the odd Star Wars link to a lesson. Millenium Falcon made an appearance yesterday, comparing the upcoming exams to navigating an asteroid field. Think vinyl cape Jawas might be a bit heavy just yet.
Good to meet a fellow teacher then!
Jim.

Name: Jeff
Age: 38
Single/Married: Married
Residence: Florida, USA
Occupation: Firefighter
Kids: See "pets"
Pets: 4 dogs. Wait, 5 dogs. Cats. Chickens. Ducks. Bees. More bees. Hundreds of grumpy bees. Also, yet more dogs on a temporary, constantly shifting basis. And it sounds like maybe a woodpecker stuck in the attic? Tree frogs all over the smegging place. We blur the line between 'pets' and 'fauna.'
Collecting Focus: Loose vintage, just the figures for the most part. Do have some other assorted things I guess, generally Hoth themed. Scratch that, pretty much exclusively Hoth themed. I live in Florida. I have winter issues.
Character Focus: None really, although I do carry a modern R2-D2 in my fire helmet band.

Looking For:
Sanity in an insane world. Although just a little uninterrupted sleep would be nice...hang on...am I missing the point of this question?

Welcome to the Forum Jeff :)

Being no longer one of the newer members, this is a shameful entry in the Introducing-Thread. First I thought I'd start a compete new thread but then I saw this sticky thread and I assume that would be more adequate and less hybris. The idea of introducing myself came up when I had that misunderstanding during the valuate/sell discussion thread of that case full of minty figs.

I havent really introduced myself also very well because, as some you you already know by now, I am based in germany and german is my native language. I have been into a UK forum, UNKLE's U77 that is, for ages but my english still lacks some term and words, so some might fit, some might not, misunderstanding could always happen.

My name is Holger, I am 39 years old and I live in Düsseldorf, lower rhine area of western germany, close to the dutch border, known for Altbier, Königsalle and interntonal fairs.
I go by the name of TheGent on here, on RS and TIG and on german sw forum lichtgeschwindigkeit.de ...

I collect vintage only apart from some very few NEO exceptions, I collect only loose figures (until now that is) and boxed SW Kenner stuff, so no Palitoy, no CND, no ESB, no ROTJ.

Most figures of high quality I bought on here finding not only very friendly sellers like Iain (you helped me with so much stuff) or Andy or Jeff (with whom I share the deep love for that farmboy Luke), but even more sellers becoming friends to share knowledge, thoughts and more.

I also like to build customs on cards and due to the fact I hate repros, most of those repro weapons I (accidently) came across are now destroyed or used for a custom figure which is somehow better than using real ones others might miss on their figs.

Pros and cons:
I might be lazy on replying pms which mostly is because I have two little kids, a twoandahalf year old boy and a eight weeks old boy, a job to feed those two maniacs plus a lack of sleep and time. I always feal guilty when reading but not replying instantly, but mostly I read via my mobile wile walking the dog or late at night. Althogh I have SwiftKey, answering in another language takes time and eats nerves.
But up to 99% of my orders I keep my word (I do my best) and money has never been late after a deal was done.

I hope to post more on the other threads on here, not only whacking through the sales thread. I must say I find this forum funny, love it for the community spirit it has (loved the action for Deber although it turned out worse!) and love the nice people I contacted over the years.

You really are a funny, nice, sometimes cynical but mostly polite forum and I love being on here.
Thank you.

TheGent - have you ever seen an English show called Auf Wiedersehen Pet? Dusseldorf has a special place in my heart due to that show. I'm from Newcastle.
I spent a day in Dusseldorf during the time of CE2 in Essen. It is a nice city.

Welcome Jeff, Florida eh? You lucky thing :D
Nice to know a bit more about you Holger aka The Gent

Hey Jeff

Your introduction had lots of my favourite words - Star Wars, Hoth, Firefighter and Florida :D
PM sent mate - orange box top right hand side

Welcome Jeff 8)

I teach Y6. Got life size cutouts of R2 and Threepio in my book corner. Did some Maths earlier in the year where they had to scale up the toys (took my boys' modern stuff in) to see if the playground was big enough to be the main soundstage for Ep7. Did a letter from Kath Kennedy to open the lesson and some of them thought it was real! for the record, the playground was big enough for the Falcon, Slave 1, Darth's Tie and an X-Wing :)

Well, my wife has a zoo...I all too often get the feeling that I am less an assistant zookeeper and more another one of the...general population... :)
