Hi I'm Adam,

Been collecting vintage star wars since I can remember. Collected MOC since the late 90's and recently decided to focus on first released kenner line. completed the 12 back run last year (started in 2004) now chipping away at 20 backs but finding them harder than 12 backs!! So also collecting the 77 backs at the moment as the 20 backs are so hard going. I only buy AFA but only because they were around before UKG if I was starting today would go with UKG.

Some inspireing collectors on this forum who I look forward to getting advice from, I could talk star wars all day which does my wifes head in. So hoping this forum will be good therapy!

Welcome to the Forum Adam :)

Hi all.
Been a Star Wars fan from the begining (it was the first film I saw in the cinema!) and went on playing with the toys from there.

Even got a Boba Fett tattoo in progress at the moment!

I still have all the toys, comics, books, jigsaws etc in the loft (all but a couple boxed).

Went to the Star Wars fun day at Burnley FC today and got all excited over the toys there from the original series.

Lee.

Hello all,

Perhaps is a bit late, as I´ve already post 4 or 5 comments in the forum, but still.

I´m Daniel, and I one of the few spaniard who is not coming back when the crisis in Spain ends. I love UK (always had), and I´m so happy to live here now, for good.
I´m a film journalist, used to be Editor-in-Chief of a movie magazine called "Maverick", and thanks to that I got the chance to meet a number of cool names. (Rick McCallum invited me to lunch once! XD).
I´ve also worked for the Spanish Star Wars Insider for a while, been to several Celebrations (and hope to go next year too!).

Of course I´m a collector. As a kid i had almost every vintage kenner action figure til my mom gave them away... :x Few of them survived her (ships too), so ever since i´ve been trying to collect them back. Not finished yet.
Also i like modern stuff too. I love Star Wars books (not necessarily novels, more like Making offs, Chronicles, Vault, ect). I´ve got a few Kotobukiyas, Sideshows, Gentle Giants, and lots of hasbros (3 3/4).
I came to London a year ago, and have no room for it, so I have 30 boxes in Madrid waiting for me to get them here.

The problem is not just space, but money too! Cause I don´t like just Star Wars, but LOTR, film memorabilia in general, I´m a huge Blu Ray collector, and (worse) I love expensive motorbikes too (just got my first british plate bike in the UK).

But Star Wars is Star Wars, and I guess I´ll always find the way to keep getting stuff, and enjoying it.

I hope I make good friends here, and have the chance to meet most of you soon (I don´t know if you people organize some meetups ... ).

Cheers!

Hi guys!

Thank you for the welcoming.

Cc4rhu I posted here by mistake. Wanted to do it in Off Topic. (I already asked the threat to be moved)

That event you shared looks amazing (a bit far from London though but I´m sure many from here will travel. Perhaps I can join in).

Thanks!

Just thought I'd say a little 'hello'. Found the forum a few days ago...

Have been a collector for many years and was quite serious when I was in my 20's, when I started collecting vintage carded figures and then POTF2. I managed to keep most of my childhood figures, although I never had that many :( I gave up collecting when I simply had nowhere to store it all. This led me to sell most of my POTF2/SOTE stuff. My parents were kind enough to store my vintage collection in their loft, where it remains to this day.

Over the years, I've been slowly passing on my remaining POTF2 figures and ships to my two sons, who are Star Wars mad. They love looking through my loose vintage stuff (carefully!) when at my parents' house, and even though only 5 & 7, they remembered that I still needed a handful of figures to complete my collection. Without me knowing, they got my wife to find me a Max Rebo for my birthday. This, along with Jabba, White Bespin Guard and Blue Snag are the only figs I was missing (not including all of the crazy variations!). To say I was stoked to get this was an understatement! It's reignited my interest in the hobby, and at the weekend I'll be collecting most of my collection and bringing it home at long last. We've recently moved to a bigger place and now have the room for it. I'm going to get a couple of Ikea Detolf cabinets ready to house some of it. Any tips for lighting? Thinking of getting some acrylic steps as well.

I can't even remember exactly what I've got in terms of carded figures. I do remember that I have a Luke X-Wing 21 back SW card and Powerdroid on the same, both absolutely mint C9. Can't wait to get them home!

Hi Andy,
Great post. Welcome to the forum.
Getting the Max Rebo must have been awesome. I can highly recommend the Detolf however I don't use lighting myself.
Enjoy yourself
