Hello, I was directed here by Darth_Sith_Lord over at Rebelscum.com.

My name is Mark Daniels, I'm a self employed commercial artist and designer - and more importantly, I collect mostly vintage sci fi toys from the 70's and 80's - mostly Star Wars stuff.

Nearly completed my loose vintage figure set, just a handful to get. Only decided to put together a set 2 months ago. Recently landed a vinyl Jawa and blue Snaggletooth :)

I collected and then traded in the early 90's under the name SUBLEVEL along with a couple of friends. We were amongst the first traders in vintage SW stuff and it was a great time! Going to car boot sales and finding box upon box of loose figures for 50p each. 12" figures, playsets and vehicles - and all for pennies.
My dad thought I was mad, until he saw me sell a loose Yak Face for £25 - which back then, was top $!

Collecting has changed dramatically since then!

I'm now lucky enough to be self employed doing something I love, working from the home I share with my wife and 2 brilliant kids. I also do work for the likes of Acme Archives, WeLoveFine.com and a couple of other companies who have the license for Star Wars.

You can see a sample of my work here:

Hope to post here often!

Cheers,

Mark :)

I've seen your work before on some of the posters sites I frequent. Theres a lot of piss poor Star Wars artwork around lately but your is definetly does not fall into that category.
I had seen your SW trilogy prints around and was super impressed.Love the Jim Phillips Rip as well being a skater that one is very dear to my heart. Are you primarily creating these as vectors in Illustrator??

Can you do a deal for the forum guys to save on US shipping or is this all coming form the US??

I may be in touch at some time regarding some illustration work for some projects. Top work fella

Wow no many new members

Hi Mark Daniels, Gordon, Barny and phil welcome to this awesome forum

Phil I can only assume you have a lot of happy memories playing with those 70 figures, don't sell them mate, not unless you have to. You can always buy mint examples of figures (especially on this forum) but you only have one set of original figures from your childhood.

Welcome to all the new peeps :D

@Mark, got to echo PC buddy, just had a look at the facebook page. Impressive, most impressive. 8)

For the record I have known Mark for nearly 25 years as we both started collecting at the same time - we both used to go those boot sales! All I can say is deal with him in confidence, Mark is oldschool as hell and straight as an arrow. Good to see you on here old buddy!

Welcome; Mark, Jedimark, Darren, Dantooine, Jason, Gordon, Barny81 and Phil.
Nice to have you guys on board. Hopefully you'll stick around :)

Hi All,

I'm a 39 year old man who hasn't gotten over the fact that he gave all his figures away many years ago. Been lurking on the forum for a while and thought I'd take the plunge and register.
