Welcome new guys 8)

stick around, join in ...sell me some ESB reseals

Hi everyone. Have just acquired the first two figures for my new collection. Grew up with Star Wars and now in my 40's, and am pretty excited about starting this collection. Just trying to forget the 70 odd figures that I had from new and promptly ripped open so that they could be played with! Would be worth a fortune now!!

Welcome to all new members since I last welcomed new members :D

Hi all, good to be here. My name's Rob, I'm 41 and I live in Christchurch New Zealand (moved out here from Durham (not the prison!) 6 years ago.
I've had vintage figures from 1977 onwards, but no MOC ones other than recent stuff, until now. Chatting to a comic book store guy in Dunedin on one of my sales trips a month ago has changed all that, and now I'm hooked :D .... I've bought a few items off ebay including a 21-back AFA Death Star Droid and a 20-back Power Droid (which I'm hoping to god turn out to be genuine) as well as a few missing weapons (again real I hope but I don't have them yet) for my loose incomplete figures. Hope to get lots more in the coming months :)

Welcome Rob, great forum, get pics up on the relevant thread, as you build your collection,

The addiction is something we all have in common :D

Enjoy the ride bud

Heya folks! I'm Nick, from the Isle of Wight - thought I'd pop a hello as I have just joined up. Started collecting when I was 5 back in 1977 when my grandparents bought me some figures for Christmas. Sold my collection around 2004 - wish I hadnt, like most, due to finances. Things have since changed and a family loss has given me a bit of perspective, so I have decided to start up collecting again.

Looks like that will be a bit pricey - wish I had kept my fairly mint collection, especially the vehicles as they were all boxed!

Anyhow, hope to get to know some of the personalities on here. Probably be asking a few questions too - it seems quite daunting with all this repro stuff. Also graded loose figures seemingly more expensive than MOC ungraded figues... whats that about?

Hope you are all well, and see you (so to speak) in the forums.

Nick.

Know those areas fairly well. My daughter is bouncing between Peterlee (shopping centre is out of the 80s!) College and Houghall East Durham. I work at a school right in the middle of Durham and it's a very nice area there. :D

Thanks for the welcome guys :) and yes I'll get pics up as soon as I get them... I'm waiting for a few more things to turn up at my "myus" address in the US to save on shipping.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but a couple of weeks ago I was actually contemplating getting some "vintage" cardbacks from that costablanca guy on ebay.... something stopped me though. Looking at your forum I'm really pleased I didn't get them. Much better to hold out for the real thing

 unfortunately not actually still in the 80's... Peterlee had a couple of great toy shops (long since gone) where some of my very best SW toys were bought. As did Durham. If we only knew then...

Hi All, Finally decided to join up having been mooching around the forum for a while now. This is a great place for information, some really knowledgeable people on here.

Have started collecting again, but going to have to be loose figures to start with as 12 back MOC's appear to be selling for mega money these days. But I don't mind that as I'm only collecting for nostalgia anyway, plus I spend silly money expensive on bicycles and my wife would probably throw me out if I start buying expensive Star Wars collectable too!

Anyways, speek soon.

RR.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys, much appreciated.

Look forward to speaking to you all very soon.
