Hello Folks

New poster here. My name's Ray and I've been collecting Star Wars toys on and off since I was a kid back in the day.

In fact one if my earliest memories is watching Star Wars on my own bedroom wall when stationed in West Germany. My dad had his own projector and borrowed the reels from a Yank. This would have been sometime in late 1978!

I've been collecting the newer Hasbro figures since they were released in the 90s but last month I ventured into the garage and rediscovered my battered old vintage toys.

The following paragraph may upset some of you, but I mean no offence

I decided to pick a few of my old favs and spruce them up a bit by restoring scuffed paint apps and missing stickers. I have even recarded some of my most cherished figures to mount on my 80s themed den wall.

My restoration of these old toys is not done for any financial resale purposes - solely for my own enjoyment! I'm giving back a little love to some old toys that brought me years of enjoyment as a kid!! And I've got to say it's a lot of fun.

I can remember when and where I bought a lot of the toys (as an army kid they came from Germany, UK, Australia and Hong Kong.) in fact the last ever three figs I bought were Luke battle poncho, Han carbonite and Han Trench Coat all in HK with the coins.

Alas all my toys were really played with, indoors and out! And a couple of the figs are beyond restoration - so I'm hoping you chaps may be able to sort me out with a couple over the coming months!

I've spent a couple of days going through the threads on here and it's been a treasure trove of information.

Anyway enough rambling from me

Ray

Welcome to the forum Ray, what a find to find your old toys.

Sadly mine were all sold at a Carboot sale when I was kid to fund something else :x

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Once I've sorted out some more of my old figures an worked out how to hang my ships up I'll get some pics posted of the den. Its quite modest compared to some of your collections tho!!
:D

Hi!

I'm a new loose collector. I merely have less than 10 figures period, but plan on completing my collection over the upcoming months. :)

Good to be here!

Good to have you here Darth! Don't worry about the size of your collection as I know everyone on here will enjoy watching your collection grow!

Cool signature too :D
