Hi Guy's, following on from the 2 pack thing Jez organised I wanted to put my best foot forward & suggest a whip round for one of the backbones of this great forum, it has come to all our attentions that a certain member seems to be in a bit of a in his search for a grail item & bloody hard thing to find, a pop up lightsaber for R2.

I am sure there will be not as much as one member here that could say a bad word about Richard, he has done so much for the forum since he joined & this year alone his dedication to the forum has been overwhelming, not to mention his willingness to help members out off forum including myself, the guy really does go way & beyond the call of duty & we need more members like him, so I would like to take it upon myself to start the ball rolling.

What I suggest is (& I say this with trepidation after the Deber fiasco), that we do something similar - everyone or at least most of us have something excess to our needs with vintage, as lets face it we all got it bad & can't help ourselves when it comes to picking up SW goodness  so I am asking that everyone that should send a little something over to me to add to the pot, we then either auction it off or do the same thing Jez did with the send in a fiver to draw a lot & the proceeds go into picking the pop up sabre up & with luck a little more as a stocking filler for a most deserving SWFUK'er

I would like to put into the pot (no surprises for guessing BTW) a Kenner Ree Yee's MOC & a couple of loose complete figures.

If you guys think its a good idea & a worthy cause, please chime in & I will organize it.

EDIT: Right on further consideration & with so many of our brethren way out there spread all over the globe, I think its a wise idea to open it up for cash donations not just vintage, as I know not everyone has something in there collection they can spare, so if you want to give but don't have anything spare & posting may be cost inhibiting, do please feel free to offer a small cash donation by way of paypal, just post here & I'll drop you my PP addy via PM, its not the amount that counts its all in the giving & helping a fellow member out, so no matter if its only 50p its all good as every bit helps & I am sure everyone could spare 50p so don't be shy in helping to get this rolling guys.

2ND EDIT: - did not think, but we need a cut off date for this so if we say last date for donations is the 17th, that gives it 10 days which should be plenty of time for all the member who wish to give a little some time to sort it out, thanks for all the support so far guys.

I'm a little worried about this Frank, you mentioned the Deber incident which turned out to be a bloke posing as a girl.

I'm sure I don't need to tell you quick search through the forum will turn up several pictures of Richard who claims to be a man, dressed as a woman :o . Alarm bells......awkward.

Great idea Frank 8)

SWFUKers will I'm sure rally for a top bloke, Rich puts so much time and effort into this forum, and is a true Gent :D
If we can assist in his little problem in Popping Up, then great

Pm sent Frank :D

Yeah Barry's doing the same, if everyone that prefers to just put some cash in the kitty I'm fine with that, misses out the middle man, not as much fun, but I know not everyone has something to spare so it will work well for all this way.

But if you guys want to send cash payments please gift them & do not say its for a raffle or lottery etc or I could be in **** with PP, just pop a note on the payment with your username ONLY, that way I know what's from where & can avoid Imperial entanglements

Whoops! :? I shouldn't have put 'transfer to shady offshore account' on it then?

Actually I forgot my user name. Doh!

Hi guys,

Tell me to be quiet if I'm interfering. Just a quick note to say Rich doesn't collect MOC's. He has had them in the past and he either gives them away, sells them or trades them for other things. He has talked about getting one of these MOC to swap for a loose one. I think all he really wants is the sabre so finding a nice MOC might not be the best course of action.

He is also after a Ledy CCP at the moment. just saying…………..

Posting off some figs for this, as most of you guys know I collect on a budget and have a Sloooooow burn SW habit with SW where I am taking a long time getting a collection together.

So...there are no big shakes here, but this is a great idea to get something Rich is after, the guy is a legend and but so much time and effort into this forum unselfish and a top bloke,

Frank has asked if we send any figures/ mocs etc we list them to avoid doubling up......

So rally round SWFUKers it's for a great reason.

Let's get Rich that little green piece of plastic that will make him smile :D

Top idea Frank, pm'd & donation made.

Whilst I've not met Rich, I'm a big fan of his efforts on this forum & the podcast (amongst others obv) and this is a nice way to say thank you.

I wouldn't the guys a dick

Seriously though...

*sniff* *sniff* I'm really touched by the generosity of you guys and this is why SWFUK is such a great place. I believe that you get out of a community what you put in it *sniff* *sniff* and I wish to say a huge thanks to Frank for doing this and for anyone who donates in any way. This has really made my day. *sniff* *sniff* I never do any of these things for reward or thanks so it is nice and unexpected when something like this happens.

Sadly, I won't be on the forum much over the next week but will write a Deber style thank you (or possibly not) when all is sorted.

Argh..... this is what I've got to do this week:

Finish off writing the SW Christmas panto for the podcast
Direct and produce my own panto (Peter Pan) Tuesday - Thu which means a 10pm finish every night. Just finished the script for that one in the last few days.
Year 12 parent's evening tonight
Write my FF panel before FF
Work out which props and costumes are missing for the panto
Edit a hell of a lot of music tracks for the panto
Make sure I don't forget all of the stuff I've promised for FF
Take down all the scenery and return it with the lights on Friday to the hire place (which is a mammoth task)

and on top of that I have my own job.

and the family fit in there somewhere.

can't wait for next Monday
