Wheres my Sky Sports News gone!??

I have Telewest/Virgin television, turned it on this morning just before I left for work and its saying Sky have 'taken their ball home with them' and refused Virgin to show SSN, Sky News, Sky One, didn't have time to see what else. I may as well buy a free view now, I only have a basic package as it is and only watch SSN really!

Virgin have changed the names to Sky Sports Snoose and Sky Snoose..all very childish!

I should probably ring up and find out whats happening but I'd imagine they're getting shed loads of calls as it is.. Anyone know any more?

Virgin didn't want to pay extra for Sky channels, so Sky have withdrawn all services. You'll have to get sky to watch their channels

Thats abysmal, we pay Ã'£50+ a month for all the movies and sports channels and we lose two of the most watched channels in our house!!

jukesy i did hear on the radio today that virgin are effectivly in breach of contract so you can opt out if you want or demand a reduced rate
give it a go i would

I have tried to contact them but to no avail, spent like 30 mins holding on to speak to customer care/support to try and get some sort of resolution but to be frank i gave up in the end!!

In total to Virgin Media we pay something like Ã'£100 a month for the tv packages, broadband and telephone and think its ridiculous that a customer thats been with them since the start hasn't been given a discount automatically.....will phone tomorrow

You were on hold for so long for 2 main reasons mate, 1 there customer service is ****ing **** and 2 lots of people are kicking off about it. Even if you never watch the channels I would still kick off and get some free **** out of them

It is not on really that because of two big guns sulking that customers have to suffer, if this was going to happen there should have at least been a good couple of months warning instead of just doing it without notice

Personally i'd say kudos to Branson to standing up to Murdoch and $ky's bully boy tactics. How do you think $ky's advertisers are going to feel now a lot of their audience has disappeared. It wouldnt surprise me if Branson has got something up his sleeve in the future as to how to replace this so called loss.

The only two programs i would watch on $ky 1 is 24 and lost, both orginally out bid for over channel 4; but previewed on C4 first. I say would watch as i prefer to wait until the dvd as i dont want adverts every 10 or so minutes.

if you get ntl phone, internet and tv it's the cheapest package. I only went to Sky because ntl don't do our area. Very glad now :wink:
