Hey guys. I came across an interesting Star Wars piece I'm trying to get more info about. It appears to be an original mold of some sort. Which would be the right board to post in?

Picked up this Darth Vader piece from the estate of huge Star Wars collector. Unfortunately they are not around anymore and the daughter didn't have much information about it. She said that her father always said it was some type of mold. All the MOC action figures were insanely priced so this piece was my only hope at actually buying something. It looks like the Vader helmet action figure case. Any idea what this may be? Here's some pics of the item in question. Thanks.

Very interesting, I'd agree it looks like the front half of a carry case hopefully there's some prototype experts on the forum who can help you.

I agree - it looks like the Vader action figure case. As I see it there may be 2 possible answers.

1 - it is a moulded 'buck' piece used to produce the original cases, at Kenner (in the US) or Palitoy (in the UK), in which case it could be worth into the £1000's.

2 - it is a fan produced piece moulded from the Vader case, in which case it's a curiosity but not worth a great deal.

For further information I recommend you post it on one of the big Facebook groups - The Admiral's Snackbar would be a good one as it's specifically for rare and unusual items and many of the top collectors in the hobby are active there.

Along with Kenner and Palitoy, a company called Just Toys released a very similar Vader carry case, I think for bend em figures as well

If you're on FB, contact Bill McBride. He's the main man in Vader items so could hopefully shed some light on what you have.
Interesting piece you have there, whatever the story of it is.
