Like most people I imagine, my favourite programmes changed as I got older (plus I watched an awful LOT of TV as a kid!), so I'm splitting this into when I was very little (under 6) and when I was a little older (under 11). On that basis, the 5 that stand out more than most in my memory as being ones I really liked are:

Under 6 years-old:

Bod
Mr Benn
Trumpton
Pipkins
Camberwick Green

Under 11 years-old:

Battle of the Planets
The Six Million Dollar Man
The Incredible Hulk
Godzilla
Blake's 7 (But don't try watching it again as an adult! As a child I thought it ruled, but it turns out it was actually utter shite ;-))

And one highly dubious 'honourable' mention:
The Dukes of Hazzard (I was far too young and ignorant to understand the whole Confederate thing. I just liked the car jumps and exploding arrows :))

And over 11? Try adding 'The A-Team' and 'Robin of Sherwood' :)

How can you diss Blake 7 watched it on you tube recently and still loved it, did have a bit of a thing for Cally (Jan Chappell) which may have clouded my opinion some what :D don't forget Chigley with Mr Dagenham (the flash salesman with his sports car and the butler Brackett with the endless corridor to answer the phone)
The episode I rewatched most recently was the very first one, and I started wincing almost immediately it was so cringe-making. However did they dream up the technical marvel that was a perspex box with some lights in it... Sorry, I mean Orac? ;-). Mind you, as a child I liked B7 so much I actually wrote to 'Jim'll Fix It' requesting that I have a wrist-teleport ring and gun. I am delighted to report I wasn't chosen to go on the show!

Blakes 7 did get a bit cr## towards the end when they lost the liberator and were forced to travel in the old ford Capri but the early episodes were great used to love Villa's humour and servalan's evil Mutoid's

There are loads to choose from, but these stand out at different ages.

Airwolf
Incredible Hulk
Chorlton and the Wheelies
Battlestar Galactica
Gilberts Fridge

Others

Lost in Space.
Muppets
Bag Puss
Terrahawks

1: Transformers
2: Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles
3: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe
4: Ulyses 31
5: Dangermouse
to name a few.....

Then, Chips, Dukes of Hazard, The A-team, Knight Rider, Street Hawk, Airwolf, that were live action
:D

I think I must have been a bit autistic as a child. Things like Dangermouse just confused me. Too much mad **** going on for me to concentrate on. Did the episodes actually have any story line? To me DM was like football in that I can watch a whole 'episode (?)' And have no idea what the hell is going on :)

Anyway. I did like Jamie and the Magic Torch, Charlie Brown, Pink Panther, Muppets and Bagpuss.

Funnily enough a workmate said the exact same thing to me years ago about Dangermouse, he said when he remembers back to watching it as a kid he though it made sense at the time. Then he said to me try watching it again now as an adult and see if you understand any of it, it's just a weird mess like someone on drugs created it.

1) MOTU
2) knight Rider
3) A-Team
4) The Dukes of Hazard
5) Thundercats
6) Transformers

It's surprising how I can still watch these now.

Oh, not just me then. I can remember lots of kids shows being really messed up but DM sticks in mind

Early Childhood is pretty difficult and not as cool as I might have liked:

- Playschool - sounds too young, but my younger brother would've been about three years old, so I ended up watching it longer...
- Animal Magic - loved this show, so funny
- Play Away
- Take Hart - Tony Hart was a real inspiration for many many years to come
- Swap Shop

I kinda thought about things I would've been watching around 6/7 years old, so 1980(ish)

Later on would've been a few more of the cooler shows, maybe that'll be a new thread soon...

The Adventure Game
Chorlton And The Wheelies
The Flumps
Rentaghost
Huckleberry Finn and his Friends

I used to love the adventure game with the grumpy uncle who would turn into a plant when he had the ump, and the noise he used to make which we would imitate at school  , think it used to have Wilf lunn and Sylvester McCoy in it but may be wrong going to have to you tube that tonight now :D

Just had a look on wiki and the uncle when he moved around as a plant pot was controlled by Kenny Baker :)

The Adventure Game was front in my mind because it just came out on DVD and I'm watching them every so often. It's such wonderful nonsense.

Yep, our Kenny Baker was there.

Thanks Chipsteak for remembering "The adventure game", brillant tv, totally mad.
Being a fair bit olderthan most guys that have posted on here I rember all these shows but in a different way.
The great Oliver Postgate narratived shows are still classics, brillant 15 minute shows.
Absolutely amazed that nobody has mentioned these:
Tiswas
Saturday super store
Going live
SMTV,
All great Saturday morning hang over TV, and SMTV had Cat Deeley!
But for me the best TV shows when I was a kid was anything by Gerry Anderson and Dr Who (Jon Pertwee, Kathy Manning and UNIT)
Thanks for bringing back the memories.
