What do you think is the best way to store my loose collection as its about to find its new home up the loft very soon?

I was thinking of either bubble wrap and/or zip lock bags, any idea?

Also with ships I was going to bubble wrap them too.

Thanks for the help and Boba, thanks for the offer but no chance mate it took me far too long to complete the set!

I would think that as long as the conditions in your loft are ok, (Not damp or too hot) then they should be ok in zip lock/ grip bags. You could go that extra yard and wrap them in some kind of tissue like Emiel says.

As for the vehicles, I would definitely bubble wrap them to keep the dust etc off and place these in a sturdy cardboard box and seal it depending on how long you think they will be up there.

Chris.

I do want to wrap the figures in something so that they don't get rubbed!

Will be gutted to put them away!

I'd be wary of the loft too, most get cold/damp during winter. My entire loose set is in a box no more than 10 inches square, it fits in an overhead cupboard in my bedroom easily.

Also I use the pro-tech square plastic cases rather than bags, no rubbing.

Out of interest, why do they need to go into storage? Bored of them?

He's pregnant edd. I don't like the idea of sealed bags- let them breath. And be careful of bubble wrap- I read somewhere to wipe bubble wrap on a window to see if it leaves a streak of oil residue, obviously use wrap that doesn't leave a residue. And avoid sealed plastic tubs that also may contaminate the vintage plastic.

Well then! He certainly shouldn't be playing American football...NOT even training.
You need to start looking after that baby of yours Bollux. It's gonna end up with a head like yours if you aren't careful

I've read and been told that the figures need to 'breathe' as it were so sealing them was a no no as the plastic is likely to degrade faster. Other than that the acid free packaging is a must and lofts get all the extremes of hot and cold so deffo try and keep them in the main part of the house.

I wouldn't worry too much Bollux, I bet most of them haven't been stored in 'archival conditions' over the last 30 years, so a couple of years in a plastic bags and a cardboard box isn't going to do much damage. I would steer clear of the loft though, the summer heat is the worst yellower

Good luck with the bairn
