I can't believe how crazy this thing has gone. I only did it to get people talking on my YT channel. Now it seems to be going global.
I have already done one radio interview this morning, and have another booked in for tonight. I'm finding it hard to keep from laughing.

If I had tried to get this sort of coverage it wouldn't have happened.

It seems people like a good mystery especially if it is Star wars related. And Nottingham university are getting a lot of coverage for their X-ray department. Which is great.

Cheers

Dave

Yeah, it's strange cos this is not a new thing to do. People have done it for decades. I saw an episode of Cajan Pawn Stars where they x-rayed an sealed box of vintage bullets to count how many were inside. They said it was the standard way to find out such a thing.
I'll try and find the clip.

It is strange but you never know what will capture peoples interest. I think there has been a publicity drive behind the new machinery from the University and combine this with everyone's favourites childhood toy and bingo. A story people want to cover.

Oh don't forget Moosies enthusiasm and media connections

Great story Dave, looks like some kind of holy artefact in the scans.
I'd definitely be thinking of doing some sort of custom display..

Cool video, does the 3D print have the COO on it?

No. The print was done with a fairly low end printer that has only 0.5 nozzle, so most of the fine detail is lost. I am hoping to get it printed on a better printer at some point.

Cheers
