Sticking with Ebay for now but we can branch out if no-one has any Ebay stories:

What items/item had you been frantically and patiently waiting to show up only to find one on the completed listings search on Ebay snapped up within a few hours (or less) of it being put up on Ebay, or the auction ran and you just missed it for whatever reason.

Any BIN auctions that were a complete steal and in the second you debated whether or not to hit Buy It Now and re read the auction description it was bought from under your nose?

For me there are two for my current focus, one I didn't see and the other I forgot about :(

1.) 8D8 Made in Macau baggies, the guy had picked up about 5 of each character he had, I think one of the other characters was The Emperor...anyway he didn't know too much about the hobby and stuck them up for a BIN of £4.00 or so. Needless to say they were gone pretty quickly... That is a good deal even for a regular baggie!
(I heard and saw the link to this auction long after it was over but sure enough, there was the completed listing, all sold!)

This one still pisses me off...

2.) 8D8 Trilogo C8 .....Clipper Catalogue .. Sold for 18 Euros....
I had this in my watch list around May and a few things happened that kept me busy and not checking Ebay, the next time I signed in knowing it was sold I expected to see it in the 50-60 Euro Range at least...
Jaw hit the floor when I saw the price..god knows why

I have since emailed the buyer and he basically said "sorry its not for sale ;) "

What are your missed opportunities/deals on Ebay?!

Very recently (just a few days ago) an ebay seller was selling off quite a few original press photos. There were about 8 that included chewbacca. Unfortuntely missed the lot. Would have loved to have won all of these.

Only missed them as i have started a new job in the last week and was away on induction courses and meetings.

Oh well. The job is much better paid than the last one which means i will have more money in the long term to spend on vintage star wars items for my focus.

Steve

What did they go for? I think I was watching that lol
Black and white?

Yes all black and white production/press stills. Most of them went for less than a quid a peice. there were a few later on that went for slightly more.

I was gutted. But now that i am a company director i could not get out of my meetings in time.

I gues i have to be a bit more grown up!!!!!!! :(

nothing comes to mind at the moment but there been plenty off things with a buy it now. I have missed out on by the time i have thought should i really buy it

Good thing we both missed out, I wouldn't have wanted to bid against you! haha

I thought they were cool, and although nothing I particularly needed I was going to display/frame them!

Really cheap as well.

Oh and not directly related to me or even something that entirely bothers me but there was a POTF Anakin MOC that was BINNED at $50 Au dollars..I think it had a crack or two but considering the price of those things I don't think the buyer was that fussed

I forgot to bid on some of those photos too :)

The best deals I've missed out on are anything that a certain Sithsmith has wanted too :(

Twice over the summer I have lost out on two carded moulded head Luke Jedis. The first one sold for almost $100 which was about my max. The second one I added to my watch list and then about a day later it had ended. I looked at the ended auction and the buyer must have worked out something with the seller as it now had said it ended with buy it now at $55. The buyer both times was the same person and at least up to a few days ago they had two carded moulded Lukes for sale. One AFAd and one not.

I have learned patience in my collecting and sometimes do get the good deal myself. Last night in fact I found a 65a Blue Saber Luke Jedi unpunched with a buy it now of $60. I snapped that one right up.

$200 for a carded UZAY Royal guard

also a modern 12" RG prototype wiht white robes. Looked very religious or something. It was a Dutch seller who started his auction really high - something like £150. It didn't sell, so he put it on again with a higher starting price - which is stupid. It went on a 3rd time but again too high a starting price

I also still regret that $200 Uzay ERG as well, Maybe one day other sweet deals like that will appear.
