What is your SW Holy Grail and why?

A similar discussion is going on at RS and is actually quite interesting. A lot of people there go down the road of pre-production / prototype stuff as being their 'grail' but what is yours and why?

I'm not really talking about things that you maybe plan to get this year or next but more like a single item that you can't see yourself getting but is the stuff of dreams to you (Star Wars related Jabba - I'm not talking about blonde twins  )

Tricky question. To be honest all the pre-production stuff isn't really my thing. There are plenty of pieces and collecting goals that I think for me are realistically probably unacheivable - such as the following: most, if not all of the Paltoy 12 backs; an ESB branded Palitoy Boba Fett; a carded vinyl Jawa; or a complete set of AFA U90 figures. However, the ultimate holy grail for me would be a set of carded DT figures - Luke, Darth and Ben. Even one would be terrific, but to have the set would be awesome. Not a cat in hells chance of that though! I'd settle for loose versions of each, although that too would cost me an arm and a leg!

I agree with your point over on RS Darth, its all relative to what you can afford.

My grail is a MOC Maccano Han Hoth, I've never seen one for sale and doubt if I could afford it if I ever saw one. It's a production piece so they do exist, just not in my price range :)

Some people have said its all about the quest for that particular object. But that to me can also include the hard work you put into raising the money and not just the search for the figure or whatever it may be.

Back in about 1996 my grail was simply a complete loose B-Wing. I had no idea you could still find them with boxes at the time and they were really expensive even just for a shell missing bits

I don't think I have a Holy grail piece. There are plenty of pieces I would like to add to the collection, a VC Jawa (like most people), but the production stuff doesn't hold much attraction for me.

I guess the carded Ledy Fett that sold a few months ago would be damn nice to have, although the likelihood of it coming up for sale again AND me somehow being able to afford it are slim!

Does that count?

I will one day get my AFA Blue snag and Yak Face, I just need to put in some overtime and search ebay....

I guess mine would be a good condition Uzay R5-D4 (the one with the flat head)...

what about just one blonde twin cause her sisters on holiday :D

mines simple a luke farmboy .this is funny as i hated it as a kid but now it just seems so vintage if you know what i mean

I dont have a holy grail. Would like to just complete my moc collection. To include these
palitoy 12 backs
last 17 on potf card
all other figures on the card they first came out on

I guess my grail at the moment would be the mythical Palitoy Vinyl Cape Jawa given what I'm collecting but if a genuine one ever appeared I very much doubt I could stump up the cash for it.

Didn't we have something similar to this a few months ago, as I put a Command Satelite and everyone asked me what that was?

Anyways, a Command Satelite, as it looked freakin excellent.

Dave.

Up until my stuff got stolen, mine was a nice carded Ledy Luke Bespin. Now, I'm really not sure to be honest - perhaps a dead mint, rare boxed vehicle?

I'd like a full set of MOC Palitoy ESB 30b's for the first 12 figures.

And a MOC Palitoy SW 12 back vinyl caped Jawa obviously.

And your actual moon on a stick MOC.

:D

got pics?

There are pics on the DVD

It was the portable Return of the Jedi toy display that went on a roadshow around the country varous toy retailers.

It incorporated of a walk in unit with screens, displays and a central light up dome featuring toys:

It would in effect become the display room in it's own right :D
