What is this snowtrooper? PBP? YPS? Help please

Within my latest purchases found this snowtrooper..

No expert on variations so was wondering if I have a reg Snowtrooper or some variation? Im thinking YPS, am I right?

Of course, if I have a rarer one, does anyone know whats it worth?

There are lots of different scarred out Snowtroopers; I've not seen one like this though. My initial thought is: it's a DIY job. :?

Yeah my thoughts too. But I haven't seem a pic of a scared out coo to compare it to. Feels different. Kinda light. And it's a bit sharper with its features which kinda points to YPS. That's why I'm seeking a second opinion

YPS snowtroopers came with 2 COO's, 3 and 11 in the picture above and where found with the german YPS magazine. These 2 COO's where also found on Tri-Logo cards along with all the other scar variants out there, yours is similar to 16 but a bit more of the filler has come free of the mold making this particular scar that you have. Not home made IMO, theres quite a few out there where a different amounts of the filler has come free and all have slightly different scars, loads of these arn't in the guide thats pictured above.

Thanks. The more I look at it the more I think it's not home made too. However in thinking it looks more like a pbp than a ybs. I'm just getting some more info from the seller.

The scar would be smaller, not bigger.

You'r right on that one but fuzzybuzzytoys stormy and 16 in the guide are the same mold IMO, maybe 12 and 17 also. fuzzybuzzytoys stormy must have come before the one in the guide then.

If you look at Hoth Stormtrooper COO 6, 7 and 8 here in Lars collection you can see what I'm on about better with one of the YPS/TRI molds, again all the same mold IMO. 6 is the original edit to the mold, 7 has lost a peice of the material that made the scar and now allows the plastic in to the G, 8 has lost another peice of the material that made the scar and now alows the plastic to go in to the N and the G.

I do get what you are on about and I agree with the theory. It can be seen in other scarred figures in exactly the same way.

Looking at fuzzybuzzytoys pictures, I can see the figure has a lot of flash and the cape has holes instead of slits. It's just the COO that looks odd.

YPS is the name of a German magazine, not sure what it stands for if anything. PBP stands for POCH, Borras and Palouzieon. 3 companies that merged around the ESB era to make SW toys in Spain.

I would call it a Euro variant; although you could get them in the US on Tri-Logo cards. Still, "YPS"/"Tri-Logo" seems to be what most people know them as.
