what figures did kenner miss from the films

I was having this very same discussion in the pub a couple of months ago, I was very drunk but I think we decided on the following...

Uncle Owen
Aunt Beru
Grand Moff Tarkin
Jabba palace Leia
Jabbas dancer (not the fat one)
K-3PO
Fat Bikerscout
Cantina band members
Biggs X-Wing
Wedge Antillies
Mon Mothma (was that her name?)

From the point of veiw of a kid though, most would be pretty dull figures to play with...

you hang out in some tough bars

Always thought that the Ugnaught was pretty shite. He comes with an apron and a handbag for Christ's sake! That's a character with serious issues.

Most of my fave figures are the smaller ones, Yoda, Jawa, R5, R2, Ugnaught etc. I think it makes a display more interesting with various sized characters mixed together.

I Personally think there are too many Jabbas palace figures. Ree-Yees, Rancor keeper, Gamorian guard, Bib Fortuna and the last 17 ones are great but I'm not keen on Klaatu and Nikto, I see them as fillers.

I think they were going for the 'weird and wonderful' idea, as in the more unusual a figure was the more popular it would be. They had loads from the Cantina from ANH relative to the length of that scene.
Someone at Lucas Arts must have decided weird alien creatures were the way to go, probably the same idiot who decided the Ewoks were really cute and cuddly and that peole would want 7 or 8 different figures

they were colourful as well which would obviously attract most kids attention. Probably more so than a grey Tarkin figure anyway, which is one a lot of collectors would have liked.
