what packaging came first for the 1985 wave figures? im assuming they were released in the states first so it will be kenners potf range, then european tri logos a few months later..does anyone know?

As far as the packaging goes, the Trilogo design came about around (or just before) the second wave of ROTJ figures so definitely ahead of the new POTF design.
However, if you are talking about the figures release dates then yes the states got the new POTF figures first and shortly after they were released in Europe.
Big shame really that the European companies didn't adopt the POTF logo till later on when some of the body rigs came out, even bigger shame they didn't update the cardback to show the POTF figures!
