Weird or strange focuses

Ok as some of you have seen I am starting a new collection, and my daughter is due at my house this week, two focuses spring to mind immediately:

1) Buy carded Mocs but only really cheap (condition not being the priority)
2) Luke Jedi - My fave figure or R5 ( the only figure I never got!)

Then
3) ask my 10 yo daughter what figure she wants to collect. Any guesses what she will pick? I have genuinely no idea! She loves Han Solo, she was in buckets during TFA and wanted to leave(!), so I figure maybe that?

What are other people's weird focuses?

It's nice to have a side focus from whatever your main collecting goals may be.

I have a Luke Jedi focus myself which spawned my odd obsession of collecting anything vintage with the cardback picture, wasn't sure at the start how far I could go but I'm really pleased with the run and looking forward to finding more stuff.

Good luck with whatever you choose and happy hunting :)

My main focus is anything with this type of price sticker on

Nice Jedi Luke collection! Loved this as a kid, if it was another choice (if my daughter wants to go Han), I might go Han Bespin loved those two figured!

Can I ask why?

Probably a sandwich short of a picnic

The idea of trying to find out what traveled the globe and ended up in American bargain bins makes it quite an enjoyable, if not time consuming hunt. You can find anything from ESB right through to POTF cards and everything in between. I dare say there may even be a reissue Star Wars Dewback or two out there with the sticker on.

I have lots of little side focuses

I have quite a few different Death Star Droid items - at first it wasn't a focus but then I decided if I was going to get things like a Popy, and various different cardback variations then it would be good to get them all for the same figure

I like weapon errors as they give the cards bit more ''uniqueness' - same with miss-cards

I also try and collect foreign cards - where that is a totally foreign card like the Harbert or just the stickers like Clipper and Tsukada

Recently I have been trying to pick up the White Tie Figher (diecast) on the various different cards and I have also been looking for the AST-5 in various different boxes as this was the first Star Wars item my Aunt bought me

Basically I think my main reason is because it still gives me a chance to by things !

I don't really have a weird focus...but I do have a side focus on the weird...trilogo miscards. Clearly in some cases the result of tired employees and a little too much of drugs/alcohol! :D

Is there such a thing

I mentioned I collect cardbacks & was very happy with my recent shipping box purchase (in a facebook star wars group)

One reply from another 'collector' was "No seriously that can't be a thing can it. People salvaging waste as a keep sake." :) :p

Glad I did not talk about my love for Ewoks

We talk tonight about possible focuses. I really wasn't expecting something obvious. Then my daughter said she really liked bounty hunters, immediately I am thinking Boba, out of the blue my daughter says she really likes bossk because he's like a lizard. Although is weird I should have guessed, when we were playing role-playing games she has played a trandoshan.
