Watch Out - Klaus

I think it was a genuine mistake and an unfortunate one for me of course but this stuff happens, no one died after all.

I am hopeful it'll come back to him, if nothing happens in 2 weeks I will have my money back and he promised me should the item I bought ever arrive after that 2 week period he will get in contact. Can't say fairer than that.

Looks like it has gone to the states :(

Klaus unfortunately thought there was a Romania in America
dang, thats a first, luckily though as there is tracking involved the post office will know where the parcel is and unless extra bad luck happens they should be able to locate it and send it back...thats why tracking is always the best bet even if it costs that little bit more so hopefully you will still get it :)

Well it could turn into a good game!

What will happen to the package in the next few weeks and will USPS update the tracking! lol

Argh Joe, what a shitter. Hope it gets sorted mate.

Tbh im not 100% happy with my deal with klaus, I have emailed him to see what he can do to rectify. I doubt if I would deal with him again, that's for sure

So it seems that I got lucky then as I am the only one happy with my purchases (of those who have actually received them)

oh dear

Think you are Iain. I bought my 65C R2 off Klaus (which I put in the recent acquisitions thread the other day). To say I was disappointed was an understatement - it arrived in a box that was 1 cm bigger than the card and it wasn't in a star case. I think it had a piece of newspaper wrapped around the edge of it and some bubble wrap under it and on top of the bubble. Obviously it arrived damaged - a huge crease above the bubble which is now not so bad after being under some heavy books for about 2 weeks.

Luckily Klaus was very courteous and gave me a discount because of the damage but I have no idea what he was thinking when he came to packing the box.

Would I deal with him again... No

**** mate , that's bad form - mine weren't packaged much better - three cards worth over 100 Euros each squished together in some bubble wrap. Luckily for me the delicate hands of our postman my have saved the day.

What is worse is this guy is a collector and I severely doubt whether he received them in the state that he was sending them out !

On this note, it will be interesting to see what sort of condition Joe's package arrives in having been via Romania, USA !

That doesn't sound good Nick :(

Wonder what Ed's issue is?

My parcel has the potential to get bent in half I suppose but at least there is no bubble to smash on it lol

Sorry chaps... Been busy!

Basically similar, ridiculously tight packaging. Luckily only the star cases got mullered.
However i have just found a crack in the Harberts bubble

I really pinned him down on the bubble- I knew it was crushed however I said I only want it if it's crack free. He promised it was 100% sealed, just crushed- no cracks. Only just spotted it as it's in a wierd place. Also there are a couple of issues with the way it's sealed. I wonder if it's a partial reseal :|

I will wait to see what he says

**** me that is really, really bad. I'd be ****ing fuming mate. To me, as a MOC collector, the bubble is everything. Can't believe his stupidity in his packaging..... as I said above, I even measured the box as I couldn't believe how small it was AND it wasn't in a star case.

Unbelievable, AND from an "experienced" collector!

Unfortunate that some of you guys got careless packaging and I don't know what to say about your package Joe, I hope it gets turned around and finds its way to you.

I really wanted that wicket miscard but it was the right thing to do to let Liam have it since it was offered to me because of a misunderstanding. I just hope it arrives safely to him with no damage.

I did receive my 2 loose figures from Klaus yesterday and I'm happy with my purchase. He even threw in some extra accessories for one of the bootlegs I bought from him.

Well he has just offered me a full refund. He assures me it's fully sealed all the way round. Now I'm torn as I have wanted one for ages.

What's your opinion on me asking for a partial refund? I would like to keep it however I don't want to be out of pocket of I ever came to sell it.
What's a fair refund to ask for percentage wise? Here's the crack:

I would be interested in hearing your opinions guys as I haven't been in this position before.

That is quite a small crack Ed so I think that will impact on the discount. However, if someone offered me a figure with a damaged bubble, regardless of the size of the damage, I would be very hesitant. I would go for a 40-50% discount and I wouldn't think that would be unreasonable. Do you think it was damaged in transit?

PS. Fair play to you ganjafett... that was a very nice thing to do

I hate situations like that Ed, you often find that it happens on "big" purchases or items you really, really want so when offered with just a full refund and having to send the item back you are faced with letting it go again and then trying to find another for a good price.

From your pictures I think the hole should have been mentioned, I guess he never saw it (can be the case)

As for losing money if you ever sold it: That might be a deal breaker for all the AFA fans but I bet plenty of people would still give it a good home as long as it doesn't get worse the next time it is sent out.

If he agrees to a partial refund you would need to make sure that it covered you cost wise for when you sell it in the future (if you do) and also it has to enough of a refund where you feel you paid what its worth now you know its damaged.

It's often super hard to agree on partial refunds so on items that can be found every day I would usually just send them back but as I said at the start of this post, when it's something big and something you wanted - just sending it back is a bit of a shitter!

Out of interest (and if you can tell us) what did you actually pay for this?

Good luck Ed!

Fairly sure it has been there a while. He reckons it's from production, who knows? However after dropping almost £300 I do know I ain't very happy.
It's about 12mm /half an inch long.

Here's a better picture

So a 40% refund would be reasonable?

Lol you know my luck on big purchases Joe.....

It's a crap situation to be in as like you said who knows when another will come along?

For example say a 4 up 8d8 turned up for sale for £2k... You bought it and one of his arms snap clean off when it gets to you. However you know the chances of finding another is slim to none.... What do you do?!?

I know my example is different to the harbert- there are others out there and it's much lower value item.

God damn it, collecting toys leaves a bitter taste at times :|

You sure have had your unfortunate issues with big ticket items mate lol

£120 quid is a hefty partial refund Ed, I reckon he will refuse 40% and just ask for it back!

Maybe £50-80? Not sure though it's his call after all.

I'd be pretty upset but I would hope I could get a partial refund, wouldn't want to send that one back- Been on my hit list since 2008 lol!
