(I also posted this on TIG, but thought it would be good to place it on SWUk too:)

More than one month ago I bought a MIB Trilogo Ewok Village from ebay seller alwayslooking4moretoys. Sofar the package has not arrived, though the seller claims he has sent it.

Today Emiel (thx man!) found out that the same seller is offering another MIB Ewok Village on ebay.

Coincidence?

Read further and decide for yourself.

This is the letter I wrote to him accompanying a paypal claim.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Andy / alwayslooking4moretoys

Let me summarize: I paid you 390 GBP on August 12th for a vintage Star Wars Trilogo Ewok Village Mint in Box. The item was formely advertised on ebay (objectnummer: 140585024727. Seller:alwayslooking4moretoys) but the auction was ended beforehand though I had placed a bid. After I contacted you to express my disappointment about this, you offered me the opportunity to make a private deal, and as said we agreed 390 GBP.

Unfortunately the item has not arrived yet, despite your claim to have posted it. Even more - totally against my wish - you choose to send such an expensive item with untrackable post, so it hard to verify the current whereabouts of the item.

At this very moment you are offering another Trilogo Ewok Village (ebay object number 140609295218). At first glance that seems odd as Trilogo Ewok Villages are very rare items which hardly show up on ebay. But maybe you are a lucky guy and owned two of these great items.

Well let’s hope my item arrives soon, maybe I am just a bit impatient.

Regards,

Marco

"One more thing..."

The black tape on one side of the box has the same length and position as on the box which I bought from you. (compare the pics in 140585024727 and 140609295218).
Can you explain this please?

Thanks for alerting us to this. Sorry you got duped. Let us know how it turns out.

Pete.

I know of the seller.

He has bought from me in the past. I have never bought from him however.

I hope you get it sorted dude as it sounds like a crock at the moment. I hope you hear back from him soon.

Keep us posted!

Chris.

YES!!!!! :D :D :D

Only two days after submitting a paypal claim, all my money was refunded!!

Thanks for all your support guys!!!

Meanwhile I also had some email communication with the seller today. I don’t know about you but to me he is a very dishonest person with whom I will never deal again. Read and decide for yourself.

And please go ahead if you want to bid on that Trilogo Ewok Village, it is not mine anymore. :D

Nice one Marco,i'm glad you got your money back! :D

I've almost bought a few items from that seller in the past but i'll never deal with him now after his shenanigans with you!

I recently met Andy/alwayslooking4moretoys in person, and can honestly say he's a decent and honest guy. I've met some wierdo's and arseholes face-to-face in this hobby over the 9 years I've collected, and he's definitely neither.

He's a nice guy and I'd happily sell to him/buy from him again.

He told me about this (without me even seeing this thread/or knowing about it at all) and it seemed like it was a genuine mix-up, the item was returned to him, and when the item was returned to him, you was refunded. If you got a refund 2 days after opening a claim, its pretty obvious he didn't dispute the claim in anyway, and he issued the refund. PP wouldnt find in your favour within 2 days. It'd be dragged out a couple of weeks.

It was naive to post something without Tracking these days, but I've had well-respected members of Rebelscum (who are of course above criticism  ) send me £500 GBP proof cards in an envelope with no tracking/insurance, or protection. I recently had a £2500 GBP parcel sent without proper tracking.

Steve, I think he should have notified Marco before putting it back on eBay. Marco had told him many times that he still wanted it. Still something really fishy about his actions, regardless of how the situation worked out.

If he didnt, I do totally agree with you mate, that is true. But having met him (and on the strength of his Ebay feedback), and the speed/ease of the voluntary PP refund, surely there was no deliberate attempt to defraud. I think re-listing was an error in judgement, not malicious.

All just my opinion of course. I'm not challenging the thread starter in anyway, and I'm glad he received a full refund,
Steve

I was the one who spotted the Ewok Village back on eBay and notifying Marco about it. Maybe it was an error of judgement, but I don't know mate. People do stupid things sometimes when it comes to money.

You could probably excuse this kind of error from someone new to ebay, but from a member with that much experience it seems like an extraordinary over site.

I believe that if any one on here saw something they had paid for reappear for sale before they had received it, they too would be worried they had been duped.

Steve, I reckon if you hadn't had the opportunity to meet this bloke you'd be singing in the same chorus mate.

Hey guys,

Thank you for your support. I lost a trilogo Ewok Village, but at least I got my money back. :D

After reading Steve's post. I decided to add some extra paypal correspondence to make clear that the seller was dishonest IMO, but decide for yourself. Most strikingly he asks me to inform him when the Ewok Village will arrive. On the same day however, he relisted the item on ebay, w/o telling me.

I can understand a parcel being returned to him, but if that happened there is no reason NOT to contact the seller and say "It's been returned, is your address correct? What do you want to do now?" etc.
To just straight off re-list, especially before telling the buyer and refunding him, is at best ****ing stupid!

Hmm Marco, I could swear there was a message you copy/pasted in here calling you a little piss-ant, but it's gone now?

Yes you are right there Emiel, I removed it cause I thought it didn't add much.
But maybe it does add something after all....pleasant and honest gentleman to do business with?....judge for yourself!

I couldn't help quoting Master Yoda. :D

HA HA! I love it when sellers like this get caught out and they resort to name calling, classic.

Showed his true nature in the end Marco, glad it worked out for you in the end mate
