Voicing our concerns over the "U" grade

Well if you think about it if it costs, let say $10 figure, to actually get it U graded now! Why not just charge $7 for the Acrylic and U label(no grades) etc and in doing so you are saving time, since you aren't giving the figure the fine tooth comb treatment, therefor can increase output so no money is lost! Maybe it will even increase profits

Too many forums sorry for the copied post I cant be arsed LOL!!

And then ..........do you know what will happen?
That's right
There will be a mad rush from all the crazy U grade collectors around the globe! A bonanza to finish off their collections,as the thought of tarnishing it with one of these now inferior imposters would be like pulling teeth to them!
You think the price of them is high now wait and see what happens if AFA ever do change to just a single U designation!

Hello all.

Flame me all you want but I think that is a very reasonable reply from AFA. I think they touched on every aspect you were all concerned about.
Even they dont like the practise of people opening nice examples they also recognise that if they were to put a clause up against cutting good MOCs up then people would ultimately just cut them there selves and then send them in.
Again this echoes what some of us said at the beginning of this raging torrent of a subject that whether or not we agree or not its ultimately up to individual collectors what they do with their own items whether we like it or not.

Peace,

Grant.

I agree Grant, I really dont blame AFA for the situation.

I never really minded the U grade, but when nice condition items are getting destroyed, I just dont understand why anyone prefers a U grade loose than a nice sealed item in the first place. :(

Josh i left an opinion on what i thought about the reply they gave I aint getting back into all this bullshit again about what they could do and what they couldnt, it aint worth debating to me because **** all will change.

They said try and educate people against sending in nice examples for Ugrading.
Im done with it all I said was I think they returned with a good answer.

Anyway hows Oz today mate, Scotlands pish.

Grant.

Hahaha I know mate not debating it with you!
The reply from AFA was sub standard to say the least IMO a shrugging your shoulders what can you do attitude isn't going to make it any better! This single "U no grade"" idea of Richards is really very clever IMO, that is how they should be thinking! It is uncirculated therefor it shouldn't need a grade!
I just can't understand how changing the model abit will ruin AFA in anyway shape or form!If anything they would be taking the moral ground on the issue IMO!Everybody is happy the U grade people,AFA and us!

Oz is fantastic mate at the moment!Nice time of year here (where I am anyway LOL)!Not to cold not to hot!
Hope you and yours are well mate!

Josh

I value everyones opinion, I aint hear to say whats right or whats wrong as you will know from my earlier posts also I dont like the practise of people sending in good carded figure for Ugrades.
Im done with it. I just said I personally thought the reply was well put regardless of what you him or her say think or do. again only an opinion bud.
My opinion aint going to change no matter how many more million times we go through it. Sorry if thats seems harsh it aint supposed to be I find the whole thread interesting but after the other day with all that heated discussions it all just burnt me out as far as Ugrades go. I dont collect them so im on the fence watching it all unfold.

Glad to hear the weather is good 12000 miles away from where I am. Its the same here not to hot and not to cold. We just had about 10 days of beautiful sunshine so i guess we cant complain.
I bet in Oz you get the sun most days of the year.

Thank you.
