Hello my friends,

I´m from Brazil. At the 80´s i was a collector of some pieces from Star Wars but during the years i stopped my collection. Surprisingly thi last weekend i was cleaning some stuff and found out my small Star Wars collection. I decided to sell it to give other collectors the chance to complete their own collections and also preserve my figures (because i know any real Star War collector will be damn carefull with their figures).

So i started to list some of my figures on ebay, and in the middle of them, it´s my Vlix. I confess that i didnt know how rare it´s until start to check on google the prices. He´s listed on ebay if any of you want to take a look, i added some pics of it.

I´m planning to list after it two model trem figures that i have from 1st series: C-3PO and Luke Skywalker. C-3PO is full preserved with all his details and original box. Luke is also in his original box, with all his paint parts full preserved but with some damage on the lightsaber. I was looking around and i didnt see many Model Trems to sell so i´ll have to think in a fair price for these figures before list them both.

I have two vehicles from 80´s too full preserved but i dont know if it´s worth to announce them because the shipping would be too expensive for and buyer. :?

Anyway, i just wanted to pass by to say hello and show the figures listed. :D

BTW, here is the VLIX on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Star-Wars-Droids-Glasslite-Vlix-Brazilian-The-Most-Rare_W0QQitemZ140378030952QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item20af2ec368#ht_4106wt_1165

id suggest you sell smaller stuff first and get your ebay feedback up before selling him! i wouldnt bid on a ebay seller with 2 ratings especially for an item like that smells dodgy. good luck :p

Yeah, that´s a good suggestion. Anyway if i dont sell him on this auction i´ll sell other figures before list him again. In this middle time i´ll announce him here in Brazil.

I decided to use ebay these days to sell because paypal is now working directly brazilian banks too, before it was hard to bring money from paypal to Brazil because i would need to pay a company to do that and the taxes were pretty high. :(

I don't think you wil be able to sell that vlix at all (unless you go way below the value). If you want to have it sold, you should get it authenticated by Tom Derby (AFA) or have it sold by something like brians toys. This way you will have to pay quite some fees, but that way you will get the best price imo, and you get more intrested as collectors know it's real. You selling such high priced item on eBay whilst having such low feedback on eBay does no good, and makes any potential buyers back out.

My suggestion, don't try to sell it yourself, have it done trough a knowdledged and well known source in the collectors community.

Cheers, Dennis.

Thanks for the sugestion Dennis. I would try to get more feedbacks and start another auction after a while. AFA is a great organization, but it´s far away from Brazil and it would not compensate for me the shipping with full insurance costs to send them the figure on this case.

Right now i already received an offer for that Vlix from a collector by mail. Looks like he doesnt have the money now to offer until the end of the auction but he´s willing to pay more than i asked to compensate that. He has a good feedback on ebay and looks to be a nice guy. So i´ll wait the end of the auction and if noone win it, i´ll problaby negotiate with him. Let´s see. :)

Looks like Vlix will have a new home soon. 8)
a bid is not a sale, but all the best regardless. I would never have thought that a buyer/seller with 34 stars would have $3000 to throw at a collectable

Yeah, it´s amazing, but i also have another offer from a guy who would like to buy it as long as i agree to let me him pay monthly until May and when he ends i would send him the figure. But an auction is an auction and the winner takes.
