Violated by e-bay scumbag

U grade means the figure was previously unopened on its card or in its baggie. In theory its the grade that should determine the valuation as a u85 is the same as a standard 85 save for the fact it wasn't previously opened. Saying that I believe the u grade commands a higher price purely for the fact it was fresh from the card or baggie.

U grades don't go down to well round here, the more it happens the quicker the unique pieces will deminish

U grade is a figure taken straight from it packaging and then graded. So for a vintage figure its taken from a MOC or a baggie.

The U is for untouched (don't know how they grade it without touching it  ), or unopened and for some this makes the figure more desirable.

For me the U is for Unfortunate as the MOC or Baggie has met with an unfortunate end.

Obviously if you own a figure it is within your rights to do this, but the general consensus is that this is bad for the hobby in the long run.
Granted some U grades come from badly damaged cards and baggies or figures with the cardback cut away leaving just the bubble and backing. But most are from MOC many of would be happy to own, MOCs are a plenty but nowhere near as abundant as loosies.

There is also the risk of quite rare MOC's being ripped open by an ignorant U grade collector...

Took me a whole 5 minutes to type that out, then Mumbo beat me to it, then it turns out you knew all along....
