Just been looking at vintage loose jawa vinyl cape on eBay
It went for £60
Know they are collectible is it true that there are those out there with cut down obi wan capes if so how the hell can you tell!

I think I will stick to the forum to source any figs

There are some dodgy gits out there !

Obi capes are a different colour. I can't tell fakes from photos, if I held them it'd be different. Only buy from here if I was you.

2 easy things to spot are the cut down obi wan capes are quite a bit darker than the proper Jawa ones. There's also a cross hatch pattern on genuine Jawa capes.
Tbh, if you want one your probably better off either buying from the forum or getting a graded one. It'll cost a bit more but at least you know it's genuine.

Yep it was the same one!

Bloody minefield!

Will def use here as safe haven only take a chance if I see a gem mixed up in a box of tat on a car boot and paying 50p !
Well I do the lottery every week !

I did try to tell the seller a couple of times that it wasn't real (not sure why they didn't listen.....). There are a few good sites about spotting a real one out there but you just never know until it's in your hand and know what you're looking at.

Graded is the only way to go other than here really and they run around 450 for UKG 85 and the cheapest AFA 85 one I've seen for quite some time is on ebay.com for around 600 or best offer. Not cheap and also the AFA one is yet again way worse looking than the UKG ones of equivalent grade. Sometimes it just pays to buy British!

Ive had a couple of Toltoys VC Jawas, and you basically look for the same things, fit of the cape, thickness, nice tight arm holes, distance from the base of the cape from the floor ect.

You just cant do this with a ben cape, it looks ****, and most people try to cover it with a blurry picture ect.

always buy from a trusted seller on a forum, or get stung like hundreds do. :)
