Has anyone managed to make a satisfactory repair to a split clip on a vintage Darth Vader figure case?

I have a case that is otherwise in great condition, save for one broken clip (it's split in half). I tried bog-standard super glue, however it didn't hold the first time I closed the case.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a glue that will be strong enough to hold, or some other ideas?

Thanks.

I don't think that super glue will be good enough to be honest. Araldite is the strongest bonding agent I know of for that type of repair.

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll check it out.

I'm not sure you will find a glue that will be strong enough to hold a part like a clip due to the fact it is a part that will be under stress as it is.

If you do try araldite or any other glue try to scuff the surfaces that need bonding to help with the adhesion process. Your best bet is to use a plastic welder but that's obviously not something that everyone has access to. If you can be bothered going to your local Auto panel/smash repair shop odds are they will have one and you may find a nice enough person there who'll fix it for you for a small fee.

Good call with the plastic welding. Was going to say the problem with virtually all glue is that it dries hard and on moving parts can crack or come away from the surface it's been bonded to. It's useless on anything that can move.
