Vintage collecting: What is your goal?

My goals are pretty simple:

Keep collecting all vintage loose figures and build a rebel and imperial army. With a side army of boba Fett's

I feel a long reply coming on

Short & medium term -

get a place to display ALL of my collection finished - almost there, so close I can taste it.

keep collecting baggies & try to get together as many as possible, both kenner & euro baggies, plus variations on baggies & figures within them & keep going till I drop or run out of them to find, sure death will come first though.

Try to acuire multi-packs/mailers as & when they become available & my pocket allows.

Get 3 special offer vehicles with the correct baggies - X-Wing/Tie Fighter/Land-speeder

keep doing research on baggies & there history & try to get some credibility back for euro issued baggies - thanks a bunch Billy!

Side runs -

77 back droids on cards

3 pack droid set & some other things to go with it - I have a plan

Long term goals -

Do some dioramas to display figures

Try my hand @ modelling to make new figures & parts for dioramas, looking forward to this.

Distant future goals -

To read some of the hoard of SW novels I have - good bloody luck, think I will have to wait till all 3 kids leave home for this one though.

Make a dedicated baggie guide/matrix, maybe even a web page to cover every kind of baggie that exists - this would be an open ended project which I would hope other collectors could add to in time.

Be a Jedi & do all that funkey jedi **** that jedi do  - well we can dream can't we eh

I was 12 - 13 years of age during the golden 1977-78 period and was going through that "I'm too cool and old to be playing with these Star Wars toys" stage! So, unfortunately I missed out on the original Kenner toys due to my puberty, newly discovered love of all this female and The Sex Pistols. My younger friends (By 1-2 years) had them by the bucket but the little action figures passed me by during the Kenner UK release in 1978.

2012, 34 years later, 46 years of age and I have decided to collect all the original available Cantina bar bounty hunters (Snaggletooth, Greedo, Hammerhead, Walrus Man and Chewie too) in complete and VGC for a photo shoot I'm preparing.

So my collecting goal is this: I've enjoyed collecting these five figures so much that I have now decided to collect the original 12 complete in VGC . . . . . Now, where will it end????

I'm very new to this site so maybe a little green to all this! Cheers and may the force of collecting be with you!
