Very first Star Wars figure?

Think I got a figure near there once.

Pretty sure mine was old Ben in 78, nothing like owning a white haired bearded man as a young boy :lol:

I do remember my last of the first 12 was a VCJ and I'm still going to think it was a Palitoy version to my dying day ( seems more and more likely with the amount that keep turning up ). I also remember that Star wars was my first and pretty much last time of a life of crime as I hid a family friends sons R2D2 before they went back home I made out to my Mum that I found it out in the garden but she wasn't having any of it. In the end I was told to keep it and my Mum sent the money to the family to buy another one. It was a double lesson I learnt that day that a path to the Darkside really wasn't for me as well as the way the price for things changes from place to place as in Bristol the figures were 99p and in Newbury (where thy were from) they cost 1 pound 10

Luke jedi purchased in Woolworths either summer 83 or 84. Played it in my grandparents lawn and strangely whenever i smell freshly mowed grass these days i recall that day summer's day in either 83 or 84. My last figure was 77b Ree-Yees which i received as a xmas present in 88.

Great question -

Can remember the first 3 figures I got (not at the same time) because of the games I played and the names I gave them
These are my originals - did have to buy a replacement gun and saber to complete them but Ben's cloak is original and being held together at the arm hole by nothing more than the Force

1st was R2 but I called him dusty bin - cheers Ted Rogers
2nd was Chewie but I called him wolf because of his teeth and he was so strong he could pick up dusty bin and jump to the top of the mantelpiece!
3rd was Ben - can vividly remember opening him at the beach one summer

I've got a proper nostalgic glow on now, I'm away to get the 3 of them off the shelf now - see if Chewie can still make that big jump with his old legs :lol:
