Vectis SW Auction 08.12.15

Got the Palitoy 45a Han Bespin. Well chuffed and pleasantly surprised with the price, well below my bid.
 
sorry to have missed the start of this but saw most of the tris go for relaistic prices.

A lose box of 11 used acrylic cases went for £186 with fees - the Vectis effect!
 
There were definitely some bargains there today. There were some insane prices, too! Did I see an AFA85 Trilogo Squid Head go for £220? Or was it even higher?? And what did I miss about an a AFA80 Trilogo Amanaman to cause it to be worth £700? PLUS FEES!

I'm very pleased with some of the bits I won today. Trouble is a couple are bloody graded. Do you think Vectis would break them out? No way an hybrid Snaggletooth will survive that trip in acrylic. Will be bad enough out of it.

If anyone going to FF is doing a Vectis run I will gladly pay a good many pints for safe transit of my bits and pieces.

A bargain. This is a real grail piece for me. It encapsulates everything 'vintage' in vintage Star Wars collecting. Congratulations.
 
Missed out on our palitoy DSC's , but got

Palitoy Luke 12 inch
Palitoy radio control R2
ESB Bespin AFA 75 graded Luke
Droid factory
Death Star play set

So not too bad :D got the lot for £500
 
I didn't win any Star Wars (again :roll: ), but did get some mego comic action heroes play sets which I'm pleased with. One thing I didn't win was the resealed Palitoy 20 back Hammerhead but at 240 plus fees it's quite a bit more than I wanted to go. Seems high for a reseal although I didn't see it first hand and maybe would display like a MOC. Also I'm not sure if there was a reseal of it in the last auction so may well have had some competition in the room.

Some pretty fair prices to be had and I'm thinking the sealed Palitoy death Star with shipping box winner is very happy :D

Defo too much for a reseal , I think if I bought it would always want a moc and wouldn't get your money back so karma ! :)

There was a few nice Palitoy Greedo's , just missed out on one ! :shock:

Touch on all those bits for £500!

Which Greedo were you after? The AFA 75 one I got was a proper touch. The only MOC I really want now is a Palitoy Luke X-Wing 20 Back. Oh, and I wouldn't mind a cheeky little Palitoy AT-AT driver, and I don't mind what back, as long as it has the logo on front.
 
There were definitely some great buys today in amongst the shockers. I felt that some of Gary's (Herosolo) graded Trilogos went for a lot less than they probably would have on ebay or even on here..but then the CCP, Hammerhead, Yak and that very surprising Amanaman more than made up for them :eek:

The ungraded stuff all seemed to sell for average prices too I thought, apart from a few crazy ones like that VCJ.

When I saw the lot of 24x DSC's come up I was really rooting for the SWF group but wow..someone wanted them that's for sure!

Good auction anyway, I watched it all day on TV :lol:

Nothing for me, was £10 short on a trilogo Dengar which is slightly annoying but apart from that everything I wanted went for a lot more than I was prepared to pay.

I've never seen the fuss with these 3 packs. Do nothing for me. No cool artwork like MOCs, and super stupid prices to boot. When I first saw images of them I thought they were something modern they looked so bland, but that's just me :D

Stef, I should've known you'd have known!

That's cool actually, the Palitoy sheet is quite a different design to the Kenner one.

Yes, yes they did and if someone woke up in the middle of the night and put in some prices that he was sure to be beat but didn't then he might have filled in some of the gaps in his collection with some rather nice (if graded) Trilogos
