Vectis Auction....what a disappointment

obiwannacollect's missing card is now in the post.

Let's hope Vectis can deliver on some improved turn around on future sales and better id checking.

I wish I'd known about the slack checks a couple of weeks ago, I could have just gone in and said random forum member names

So how does the forum member from here pick up other people's items? I'm not saying that 's a bad thing as it's really good of him but I did wonder before how that was arranged, maybe the winners contacted Vectis first about someone picking up their lot?

Shocking really. You can expect a week or two delay from some random dude on eBay who has a full time job and 3 kids running around etc but not an auction house who handle huge collections worth thousands of pounds.

I would ask for a refund if I were you!

Exactly. There are much bigger volume sellers than Vectis managing next day or at worst 48 our shipping. I personally send over 200 packages a week. No one waits more than 48hrs for me to ship. So even if you're shipping a thousand items a week you still only need 3 or 4 people dealing with it, especially given a courier company can pick items up from your place of business.

With the extortionate fees these places charge i'd expect nothing less than immediate shipping. If that's not possible then they clearly have a system out of control that needs addressing. If the volume is too high it means you're turning over a **** load of money. Here's the really complex solution: hire more people to deal with it.

You're welcome.

I can't speak for others but I did request that Vectis ask for a copy of the invoice when I had mine picked up (in the words of Ali G cc4rhu big up yourself). But I agree their lack of security is shocking.

I can only echo many of the comments of others, the level of service from Vectis is exceptionally poor, I was prepared for it but it still grates. The fact that they then take instant payment and then faff about is not acceptable really, add into that the additional fees they charge it leaves their customer service very low.

Holy smoke! Opened a can of worms here haven't I!?

So take one disgruntled star wars collector who writes something on the forum, enter Mr Palitoy aka Jason and no less than 24 hours later I have an email from vectis stating the item is shipped and an apology from the manager. Jason, top stuff mate, many thanks for talking to the relevant parties. You and a lot of other guys on here are the reason why this is such a cool forum and the place to be, hope I can return the favour one day.

I'm a reasonable chap and hold my hands up to the fact I never read the terms and conditions regarding delivery when they are busy and the possible 21 day turn around. I still think they could still strive towards a better service and I'm shocked at the comments regarding ID etc.

Now I shall sit and wait, hoping that they didn't pass it around for a good kicking before packaging it up!

may the force be with you all

While we are at it, Vectis need to drop the buyers premium, or at least greatly lower it. It does have a negative impact on the amount people will throw at items.

Yeah I understand the sellers commission, but I don't see why buyers should have to pay for the privilege of buying. It should at the very least be capped or tiered, eg 20% on a £100 item isn't a big deal, 20% on a 15k Boba Fett is a car...

While ever people keep buying they will keep charging, unfortunately it's pretty simple they get a lot of stuff you can't find anywhere else.Sellers want top money for their rare items and vectis seem to get them.
Just my opinion.
