Hi All,

I have just been unpacking my old Star Wars collection and found some carded figures and vehicles that I bought from a collector in the early 90's. I was wondering if any of the SWFUK guys could help me price the following items please?.

Also have a lot of other figures carded/loose with weapons, vehicles, mini rigs, boxed dewback, cantina, imp transport and so on but sadly the bubbles on the other carded figures have become yellow. So I assume not worth much. Few examples below:

Many thanks for any advice. :)

Some great items and I'm wondering if you might have one of the only non TT C3PO's (MR Palitoy, please?). Also I think the ESB 41 back R2 might me of high value but unfortunately it's not my area of knowledge. There are some in the know people on here about these things so hopefully they'll notice your thread.

All the best with it all! :D

Good to hear your thoughts Jason as I get a bit lost as to what's what with this whole Toni thing. I thought the R2 was rare due to it being on that card back but it would be good to hear someone's opinion on value. It is also a great conditioned card.

The 41 back R2 comes up so rarely, there hasnt been one on the market for years. 4 figures in the current market wouldnt be unreasonable and it's nice and mint too.

Does the R2 cardback look right to you?

I know what you mean Todd, I also slightly wondered that due to the card back looking a little matt and also how mint it appears to be. I have seen this paper/print type used before though and in fact used to own a 12 back kenner R2 that the back of the card had the same finish to the paper/print (this item was later AFA'd by the person who bought it from me). I also wondered about the R2 as it almost looks like his legs have yellowed a little but this could happen anyway and it might even just be the lighting. That all being said though, after what Jason wrote I'm sure there's nothing funny going on with it.

The paper/print type varies depending on which factory manufactured it. The later cards made in Coalville tend to be more glossy, the earlier cards manufactured in Hong Kong, less so. 41 backs were manufactured in at least 2 different Hong Kong factories. The R2 shown has the K factory code for Kader on the back. Haven't seen a non Kader version of this card yet. Though there are 2 variations of this card 41b and 41c. The 41c has the (with figures) writing removed under the Star Destroyer Playset writing on the back of the card. The example shown is a 41b as the writing has been covered up with a small bit of blue paper.

cheers Jason

Thanks for the info. The bubble was crystal clear and the cardback finish appears to be too Matte and looked like an uneven cut at the top. I entrust it is real...it just looked off to me.

Not a thing.

I'm certainly not looking for any thanks for trying to get more information on this (and starting another thread on the subject of 41 backs), as I was interested myself in finding out some more about it and also thought that someone on here might be interested in the R2 with it being an uncommon card back. It is a bit strange though that there's been no word from mk76, are you still out there?

I agreed with Todd when I seen the r2 first after having a closer look the camera could be the reason the bright logo and the legs on r2 maybe but the thing I haven't seen before is the inside of the hanger part looks to be all black, normally you can see at least a little white, but I'm no expert on carded figures especialy the logo's on that one. would be interested to know if there are variations on the cards like this, the R2 card does look extra rare to me.
