v/c jawa advice

Ive been looking in to buying a loose v/c jawa i think im pretty clued up in what im looking for cape wise and the bigger eyes on the figure its the weapon that is puzzling me a bit ive read people saying that the kenner version blaster had no bump & the tt version had the bump but ive seen kenner versions that have been afa graded with the bump on the blaster just wondering what the deal is with this i dont know much about grading would they grade a figure with the wrong weapon? any feedback would be much appreciated as i might be going to look at one.

Thanks cape town the site was helpfull and answered my question regarding the weapon much appreciated fella. The jawa im going to look at has slight ware to the hands i have looked at my cloth caped jawa and its eyes are close together and big so its one of the early ones im guessing! so was thinking of swapping figs over the thing is that it says their should be a hong kong coo on the figure(vinyl) on that site and mine has a no coo dont know if this is relevent but hardly any of my star wars(21) figs have coos was just wondering if anyone could help clear it up it dident say it should have a coo on the the web site just that it should be hong kong

Yeah the VC Jawa should have Big Eyes and the Hong kong COO. If you did manage to get one to swap the cape onto you'd have to be really careful taking the cape off, as its really tight fitting and could rip.

I was going to buy a loose VC Jawa but with the money involved and the fact i wanted to know for sure everything was as it should be i saved up the extra money and got an AFA one. I didn't want to take the chance of spending 2 or 3 hundred quid and finding out there was something suspect about it. But thats just me lol i always need to be 100% sure or i loose sleep :lol:

thanks for the response i know what you mean but im not into the whole afa thing if the figures good enough for me thats all that counts i think i know what to look for cape wise and im going to view it first the guy seems on the level tbh i would just rip a afa figure out the box anyway. so its got to have hong kong on it?

nice 1 chewie should not be to hard to find a replacement should it? ive noticed some of the afa graded ones have the little wide beedy eyes but will get rite one if a jobs worth doing.........

thanks chewie ive bookmarked that hes a minter by the looks of him. im strugling with the weapon thing tbh the pic ive seen for the one im going to see looks blueish which isent rite its not the best pic so cant tell if its greenish or blueish ive read up on the site above about the weapon having the button and not having the button and it being black in color or (dark green) and never being released with a blue blaster. my blaster(bump) for my cloth cape is black it looks the same color of all the star wars figures(21) blasters which to me if you look at under a lamp all seem to have a hint of dark blue about them if you know what i mean? what im saying is would this be the correct blaster? what color is yours chewie and has it got the bump?

Yeah i know what you mean. The Blue/Black is OK as is the Dark Green, its the lighter blue that you don't want. My VC Jawa has the bump.

As for its colour....Judge for yourself.

On the left is a Blue Luke Bespin/Han Hoth Blaster.
On the right is a Blue/Black Greedo/Solo/Luke X-Wing/Snaggletooth Blaster.

I think mine is Dark Green? What do you think?

(PS) I still think you should get a graded one :wink:

Mine originally came with the dark green/black blaster with a bump but have since replaced it with a dark green/black blaster without a bump that I have acquired since then.

im starting to think that you might be rite with the graded thing chewie. now some one on another forum is telling me that the hk COO has to be in a certain position and spaced in a certain way burning me head out now tbh. i will just rip the afa box open though thats the only thing so its just money down the drain in some ways but its piece of mind at the same time. i think yours is the green blaster chewie

i know capetown i just thought it had to have the hong kong stamp on it but having gone back to the site and read through it all properly i realize it was there the whole time im just not the sharpest knifes in the draw! nice 1 for all the help fellas.

Mines an AFA 85. Like you said, if you buy an AFA one and take him out to display him at least you'll be happy in the fact that you know its all correct. Glad i can be of some help :wink:
