Hey Folks

I have a question, I have always thought my following c-3po is an unpainted factory overstock Ledy , so do you think as he never went through the final stages of production being painted , sonic welded , and finally the screw added to the back.

So my question , is this 100% Factory overstock Ledy ? am sure it is but thoughts please.

Have you tried asking on TIG mate? There are loads of Ledy collectos on there :)

Yes I have posted it on 3 different forums to see what kind of answers I get , as i know not all collectors are on the same forums.

Thanks

Hi sorry that I can't help

But I have seen some guys telling about how to remove the paint so they look like the one you have and also about how some then give them another color. But I do not know how to see the difference between a figure where the paint has been removed and a figures there has never been painted.

Didn't the Ledy figure have a different coo to this?, only a guess as I am not up on Ledy figures, I think AJ may well be the one for this question on here.

I have just checked the coo guide on TIG & its not the same as the one you have by the looks of it, see here -

you can only tell under magnification (if its a good job) if the paint has been removed, usually chemical marks/bubbles/abrasions can be seen.

I wont comment on this one but there were a LOT on ebay all in a short space of time, circulated by the same seller who was caught out. Not saying this is one though.

Its been a while since i had mine but im sure it had a metal screw in the back.

Hey folks

Thanks for the replies , Its actually the same COO is the removable Limbs Ledy , i actually had a brain freeze when posted this as obviously it would be the rem version with the date stamp ! they didn't have the screw on the back I believe.

What I have been told is the removable limbs Ledy version was white plastic underneath so if this had been stripped of his Chrome and he was a Ledy why wouldn't he be white plastic ??

I have looked over the figure with a magnifying glass and there really is no evidence of it being a stripped figure ! no paint flakes or any sort of residue left ! so the plot thickens.

Also so there is no confusing the legs are sticking together with blue tack ! so that's what you see between the legs and the torso.

Thanks

Vince

As Chris G said on RS, it's potentially a really cool piece, but proving it is genuine one way or another is impossible without provenance, and as such I'd keep it in your collection as a cool piece, but not something you should be comfortable trying to pass on/sell as the 'real deal' as you will never be able to prove it's genuine, even if all the signs are there.

I know this sounds like the most obvious question in the world but sometimes it is overlooked..

Where did YOU buy it from? And what provenance did you get with it when you bought it?

Surely it came from somewhere and you bought it knowing what it was "supposed" to be, so what information did the seller give you to back up that claim?

already posted on other forums on this:

Not Ledy! coo might be correct but color is off (LL is white molded plastic)

The only thing that I could think of is a testshot (Testshot in white is senseless because the details can be seen in better on a colored mold).

Anyway....two more of these were now been pictured...this makes this look even worse! I personally hope you havent payed to much for it buddy! :(

It doesnt look good at all!

And I agree with Joe: Your source is really important!

Hey Edd

I will be keeping it in my collection , it is a niece piece I just thought it was about time i tried to find out more about it.
I would never pass it on as a genuine piece to anyone !

Thanks

Joe some great questions ! The seller was originally selling it through Ebay , but I ended up purchasing it off Ebay this was many years ago ! well before I started collecting c-3po items I just thought it was a cool interesting piece that caught my eye !

don't think it had any provenance and unfortunately I cant remember what it was listed as ! I thought I remembered who the seller was and he had a website selling action force toys mainly with some Star Wars items , i contacted someone on ebay but they never got back to me.

Thanks
