I'm currently lobbying the Oxford English Dictionary for the word rare to be a given a third alternative definition:

3. Rare (adj.) any Star Wars related item for sale on eBay

Ironically, an appropriate use of the word rare is rare, possibly even ultra rare and finding an appropriate us of the phrase ultra rare may be a Holy Grail...............

Darth-Hilbert this forum has many vintage starwar collectors on here who collect the original vintage figure line 1977 - 1985.

Using myself as an example i collect original vintage carded figures here is a picture of one of my figures

LukeSkywalkerFronttiny.jpg

It is a Luke Skywalker original figure on a canadian 20 back its also graded. So far this is the only know example (to date) to surface of this particular figure on that type of canadian cardback. Therefore it would be fair to describe as the item as rare.

Now for what we would label a Ultra Rare item (not from my colection)

bobaboba.jpg

Here is some history on the piece

"Empire Strikes Back 21-Back Boba Fett
It is not too often that a new item surfaces these days, and although there are some cards backs of this piece that have come to the market this is the first and only example that has shown up carded. This Boba Fett figure is thought to only have been available in a very short term Mail in Offer, and as such very few were likely produced. Since the logo was also changed and there were only the Yoda and Fett figure produced with the Empire logo that only makes it a more limited piece. This figure has the classic Fett image on front and a unique ESB logo. The back is similar to the Italian Star Wars 20 backs. but Fett is now included. This currently is likely the rarest Boba Fett toy produced and is far rarer then even a J Slot or L Slot Rocket Fett"

So when you use words like Ultra Rare for an item that due to the numbering system we know that 2500 were produced some of the guys here would find that funny.

Welcome to the forum and stick around

Jay

Now girls like this are extremely ultra big time hard to find..........

Welcome to the world of star wars inspectors, to me 2500 copies of something individually numbered is pretty rare... but not as rare as i may have thought when you guys have the things you are mentioning. Looks like this is gonna be a fun place.. Try and find the lithograph on the internet for sale then tell me its not ultra rare (as in availablity) ;)

BY THE WAY I'LL SOON BE POSTING A PHOTO OF MY ULTRA RARE GF ON HERE...

Here is the link below btw i saw far more sites / sellers selling the same item for about the same (fair) price.

http://www.mopartrim.com/product/1432736/McQUARRIE_STAR_WARS_LITHOGRAPH_framed_LIGHTED_FILM_CEL.html

So now ill tell you its not "Ultra Rare" or even rare in anyway way shape or form including availability.

Your a tool...Over here in the states I can buy this item for $30.00 in a local shop anyday....Your girlfriend even cost me less than that. :p

Respect for coming back. This is a great forum to be a part of and we hope you stick around. Yes its laid back and full of banter but the guys on here (apart from weasel!) have a fountain of priceless knowledge to tap into.

Collecting is a minefiled many folk buy into the dealer hype / sales pitch attached to items like your lithograph but ultimately 99.9% of these type of items loose more than 100% of their value within 2 years and in the world of collectables and the internet something that is specifically numbered 1 of 2500 is relatively common as proved earlier.

Are you a collector or a dealer?

If you collect you should put up some pictures of your collection.

Jay

Yeah, fair play for coming back.

And, for the record, I am full of useful knowledge.........just NONE of it SW related! :D

hello im a newbie here and ran across your post on the cantina litho i know of 1 that could be sold at some agreed price wich to me is hardest part of the deal since there isnt any but mabey here i seen any actualy may be like this one in your post but a price on a ultra rare item itself is hard and as talked of here the unique and how no 2 cpould be the same along with like said before in th is post about the hand numbered by artist part there is the main reason in my opinion at least the key factor of each one has an origanle cell from the 1970 reel and in film every frame would be unique in its own way that is is a single frame and rarely 2 would be identical as well as the artist and drawing artwork would make ecah one individule in its own sense as well. anyway sorry for not so good photo if i can figure how to post it but itsa from cell cam an not the best im looking at # 306 of 2500 in mint condition (with i defect as found in the majority of the ones is the light stoped working but t hey make 1 from radio shack is better an lasts much better ill try ppost the pic and see where it gets us i agree that the buyer i would like to be a serious fan / collector so can truely apprecite its unique qualitys an get as much or more than is meaning to me from story of how di i end up with one with nice low number :)

incase i dont do my first image ok
