I am sorting through some of my spares to sell and came across this fella. He has a strange bubble- I think its a Meccano bubble as it is small and very thin/ fragile. It is a slick seal, mexican style. It has a clean style punch but this has bent slightly (I assume when it was hung for sale). It also has a hole punched through.... any ideas why? I wondered if it was hung on a double prong?
Thanks in advance chaps!

As far as I know dont all Tri Logos have the slick seal bubble?

The bubble shape does seem quite domed but it has the fluted corners. Ill leave the price check to the Palitoy/ Tri Logo bods I think.

As far as i know, trilogos come with 3 main bubbles types. The usual/"normal", crush-prone, sharp cornered [at the seal] and divot/dimple cornered [at the front corners of the bubble] which appears to be the one you have here.
The 2nd you get the same bubbles but without divots/dimples at the corners. (i don't know the reason or history to these two differences)
The 3rd most common [and as far as i know only other variation] of tri bubble are the regular kenner style, round lipped bubbles which come with or without stems [just as they do on earlier kenner and palitoy mocs]. These are slightly more sought after and slightly more valuable but still quite common.
All bubbles vary greatly in size and depth depending on the figure, just as all bubbles do.

It appears to me that you have a 2nd style of bubble without divots. These bubbles are often a little larger than the divoted bubble. [see example pics below]
With the hole in the card i don't see much more than £20 value here. I would double check everything i've said with Joe as he is often the man for the final word on trilogo variants.

Here's a good picture showing the 3 bubble typles all with the same figure. As you can see, the divotless bubble is slightly larger than it's divoted counterpart.

Hey Ed,

Pete is pretty much bang on with regard to value, common figure, common variant (sorry) and some wear and tear.

I tried to keep my bubble explanation as easy as possible because I think people tend to get lost with variant bubbles then they give up caring - http://trilogo.info/carded-figure-guide/bubble-types-variations/ (while there are more differences I could show and lot's of variants to catalogue this was my attempt at the dummies guide to bubbles :D )

In short- it's a common Palitoy bubble, large size with a short etch :)

Thanks Pete and Joe!

I thought it might have been an interesting one but never mind! It looks slightly smaller the palitoy bubble, maybe the bubble is just a little lower on the card than the others I compared it to!

Thanks for the advice chaps 8)
