Tri-Logo Madine

The problem is, a lot of us are riddled with these ridiculous ocds and getting the Noel Edmonds action figure is the only way to finish a trilogo set.

No one is going to spend $25k on Madine, as the others have said it will be a 'high end' collector chasing a minty Trilogy set. Imagine if the bubble falls off!!

Most probably ! The tri logo bubbles aren't great

It's remarkable to think that there are people out there who are quite happy to pay out $20k+ on a single item in our hobby at these types of over hyped/overpriced auctions and sales events (I'm thinking of some of the crazy prices realised during the Nigo auction here also).

Sure the Madine is a well known rarity and big ticket item that's in great condition but..for $25k you could also buy a room full of really awesome stuff! You could literally go off and buy some screen used props or a few early prototypes with that kind of cash and still get change! I understand the allure of production rarities and I appreciate that there are people out there to whom $25k is the equivalent of one of us spending £100..but I'll never understand how people who have money always find ways of using it in ridiculous and completely wasteful ways.

As much as it pains me to say it, I wouldn't be surprised if some misinformed millionaire drops close to $20k on this at some point. Insane when you think that it's probably a $10k piece at the very most.

In the grand scheme of things this should be an $800-1000 item when you thing of all the quality items that amount will buy you. It's not particularly nice to look at or even very interesting. It's just part of the folklore of the hobby these days.

Fingers crossed an unknown case or two turns up in someones loft or old shop soon and wipes the value back down to reality... The whole thing stinks of making money not being involved in a hobby :(

There are some other ridiculously overpriced but quality stuff in that collection for sale. A carded esb VCJ- but looks like it's sold. Vlix at 17,000 dollars loose graded!

In terms of value compared to rarity I would say he is fairly reasonable at the going rate (5-7k.) People are paying way over $1000 for popular 12 backs now, and there are thousands of them. It seems most foreign MOCs are thousands rather than hundreds these days, and as a France-only MOC he falls in to that category.

The TT ESB VCJ don't think even made it to the listing before being sold. Asking price was $40k for an AFA 40!!

It's not really comparable but sometimes I see hilarious asking prices on certain rare and vintage guitars but there's always someone willing to pay that amount. Many times it's not a musician or a collector who buys them, just someone with a lot of money.

They should change his name to general madness. That being said is it as crazy as a one off painting selling for $100 million?
