Hi All.

I'd value your opinion on whether to get this figure graded for sale or not. I would go to UK Graders I think. Any ideas on the score/value?

Hi Graham

If you want my honest opinion based on handling loose graded fetts over the years i'd say he would get a 70 or more probably a 75 rating off the AFA. I cant speak for the UKG but the consensus is that they tend to grade slightly higher than the AFA.

In terms of grading he has paint wear to following areas the helmet / visor area, the right hand shoulder, the left hand shoulder, the hip pouches on each side and the belt area.

He also has some factory paint faults i.e over/under sprays to the back pack area and on parts of the green paint on the lower chest area.

The above factors will reduced the overall grade.

He is still a very nice figure.

Cheers Jay

I wouldn't bother with that one mate, I had one about the same condition and thought it was pretty decent then I bought a loose lot on ebay one day, when it arrived a tri fett was sticking out of the box in amazing condition, he is the one I have now!

Is there are a big thing for tri fetts at the moment then? I only thought at best they were a £30-40 figure in top condition? Maybe I am wrong

I would think a 75 at either graders, depending on if the limbs were stiff as well. Grading it wont add any value to it, but it will preserve it.

Depends on your intentions in the long run really.

Yep he wants to sell it.

I go with everyone else, not really worth it on this example to be honest, you can find better out there, and I don't know anyone that collects 70-75 grade figures

what about this fett i just dug out ...he is great all round but arms a bit loose ?? i dont know why as he is untouched

Cheers guys. :) I saw a few completed ones on ebay between £80 - £110 for 80-85s I thought it might be worth a punt. Some of the loose AFA 80s of other figures ive seen have been terrible.

Well its only gonna cost you about £15-16 all in to get him graded at UKG so it could be worth a punt.

I think you may just scrape an 80 at ukg, but if he gets lower you may then struggle to sell him without cracking him back out of the case.

Tri-fetts have been selling really well the past few months.

Personally i'd risk it, and if it came back a 75 i'd bust him open (well i'd at least try to sell him graded first lol).

Leighton if you have any Fetts molded in lighter grey plastic and have their COO scarred out I'll pay 25 pounds :) There are 4 variations(more depending on who you talk to) all getting decent prices. I've even seen blue snags go for less sometimes  item230350733589 just sold for 60 pounds

again, forgive me, but what's special about a loose Fett? Aren't they two a penny?

Its a Tri Logo Fett mate is has much lighter plastic than the standard Fetts. They aren't very rare and can be found ebay all the time but they are an expensive variation of this figure.

Variations of figures can command very different prices. In this hobby you really need to do your research as there is so much to learn.

If you read up on the following sites they should give you a better understanding of the different dynamics of the hobby.

There are many more vintage SW resources available on the internet but these should keep you busy for now.

Great thanks. It's been a long 10 years but I'm getting back into this..

No worries mate. It good to take the time out researching and building your knowledge that way you will better positioned as a buyer regarding value availability etc. Watching the eBay price trends is always a good idea as well especially for items your interested in picking up.
