I use to have his phone number but dont know where I put it.

Thanks! Ironically, as I was Googling his name I stumbled onto this post which pretty much has the entire contact angle covered.

I'm also wondering if anyone else here had to use a go-between to make their purchase. How it happened that I actually got suckered into buying from him was I missed out on a sale of a Palitoy Fett on RS. I posted in the thread how I would have liked to have bought it, and received a PM from RS member jimuk. Jimuk suggested contacting Toytoni. I did but never heard back. I don't remember if jimuk checked-in with me or vice-versa, but after explaining I hadn't heard back, he got in touch with Toni directly.

Needless to say, I should have gone with my gut instincts as I was having a payment issue with PayPal converting from USD to BP because I'm a Canadian, paying from my Canadian credit card, and I had set-up a USD account, and the explanation I got at the time from PayPal was they weren't capable of crossing-over with conversion from more than one currency (CDN>USD>BP)

Jim had a snappy solution to the mess - I send the payment to him in USD, and then he would pay Toni.

What sucked in retrospect is that I never saw the actual MOC from a photo. Bought it sight unseen, and based entirely on the glowing recommendation and word that it was in primo condition. And to be honest, after all the hassle, I was thankful that jimuk offered to help out because I was thrilled to add it to my collection.

Now, not so much.

Reading through the threads on Toytoni, it seems like a lot of people stuck their neck out for this guy over the years, endorsing and making recommendations. Generally speaking and not specific to my experience, a part of me can't help wonder if any of them were in on it.

Jimuk is me mate, I was mine that sold on rs and i offered to act as a go between, i certainly wasn't in on anything and just thought i was doing a fellow collector a good turn as i act as a mail holder for others in the USA (if an eBay seller won't post to the states people have items sent to me to be posted on ).
As far as i remember (it was a while ago!) Toni said your emails may have gone straight to his spam folder as i gave you his email addy before offering to act as a go between.
I'm sorry if you feel ripped off but i really only provided a contact (which im sure many have done before me) the only thing i got out of it was the satisfaction of thinking id helped someone out.

Hi Jim, I understand and I even remember posting a thank-you thread purposely for the effort you put into helping the deal along. I just wondered if there were any other examples like mine, which to be quite frank, makes it difficult to try my hand at a chargeback through PayPal's counterfeit goods program because even if I'm successful, it would mean the money would come out of your account.

Overall, I'm frustrated with the situation and how it's all developed, and it hasn't helped that he hasn't responded to any of my messages (two so far) which means I'll have to take the kids gloves off and pursue things in a completely different manner unless he gets off the pot and addresses my issue with him and fast.

I don't really what to suggest you do mate, Toni is obviously only answering certain emails so I don't think me trying to get him to refund you is going to work either.

I notice on ebay that one seller is shifting his AFA 85's ROTJ Hoth Trooper and ROTJ Fett with really low starting prices and I know for a fact that he knows about this TT situation and doesnt mention it

he must be trying to sell all those hoth troopers in quick succession, he sold one on the 21st and one just an hour ago
all afa 85 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Star-Wars-Hoth-Snowtrooper-Carded-ROTJ-AFA-85-Archival-Cased-/121240778275?pt=UK_ToysGames_ActionFigures_ActionFigures_JN&hash=item1c3a837623&nma=true&si=o0hLPVlqi%252Bivrwzvdw5a6unZMUU%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Not to mention the Boba Fett Unpainted Knee Light Blue AFA 85 he also sold yesterday for 410 pounds... Or the Stormtrooper GM 45 Back ESB AFA 90 he sold for 225... What a shame!!!

I have been investing a big amount of money in TT blisters on last three years but if all this turns out to be true, my loss is my loss and no one's else... I'm utterly ashamed of sellers like this!!!

Thank you for the big effort you're making on your investigations, guys!

Man! this potential Palitoy fraud has really shaken the hobby to the core. People off loading MOCS fire sale style before the full truth is out. I think things are only going to get worse before they get better.

The sense of loss of trust is palpable. You only have to read the Harbert VCJ thread and you can see that people just don't know what think anymore. Sad times.

Agreed

I learnt this morning that a Spanish collector that had been outbidded on one of the several AFA85 imperial troopers Palitoy listed on EBAY by starwarsfigures was offered a graded At-at driver for 125 pounds by the same seller. Luckily for the guy, he asked on a Spanish forum, so I could warn him and he finally refused the offer.

I have been checking this seller's feedback and the information displayed says he also sold five graded blisters to the same buyer a couple of months ago (the seller made his account private, otherwise I would have contacted the buyer to warn him), one month before all this came out... Then nobody knew anything about this, but now... Is the EBAY seller starwarsfigures trying to get rid of all the graded blisters he owns and which come from Toni??? Has anybody tried to contact him? Isn't he aware that he could be selling fake pieces?
