Stumbled across an interesting memory-lane site - with a toy/games section. There is a thread that sparked my memory of a Zodiac toys not far from where I used to live.

Not too much info on Star wars, but I remember spending many moons rifling through their hangers of figures on a Saturday back in the day. Anyone remember Zodiac? This fella has set up a website dedicated to the memory of Zodiac - with pics and all sorts - pity there are none of SW yet, but maybe one day.

Ashleys Childsplay was the only toy shop in town when I was young, now it's a bloody Polish restaurant !! :evil:

I used to go to Zodiac in The Old George Mall in Salisbury. I think it's a Thorntons now or something?

They never used to have them on pegs, but carboard shelf shippers. Toy Master was the best shop in Salisbury though, they used to keep them on the platform by the stairs as you walked in. What is nice is that the shop is now an Entertainer, so it still sells some Star Wars toys

Bournemouth was THE place though in my neck of the woods with both John Menzies and Debenhams as the best places and WHSmith sometimes had good range too.

zodiac and toymaster were ok in donny but a bit out of way ,there used to be a stall on market that had i swivel rack with some on always cheaper then shop

When i visited my nan and grandad in Barnsley, I remember there used to be a good toy shop just up the street from the town hall. Remember buying an action man from there.
Dont remember the name of the shop.

I am going back quite a few years ago. There's a street that's up a slight hill up from the town hall that's all i can remember. I can remember the market aswell. I dont go into Barnsley anymore but still visit my cousin in Denby Dale.
