I think the playset are okay, but I would not have missed it if kenner have not made it. I first learned about this playset in 2001 and I don't think it was sold in denmark when I was a kid, I never saw it in the stores.

As this is the only “playset” I have, it goes to show that I really like this set.
Of course it would have been vastly improved if they had motorised the set as they had planed before those plans were dumped due to cost.
Any way here’s mine, fully complete , although the box could be better.

Great stuff! A lovely compete set, and the box doesn't look too bad to me; I've certainly seen a lot worse!

I love the Palitoy version too, although the base on the Kenner one is unquestionably better. Another lovely complete set, and displayed in your customary mini-diorama way. Love it!

I've always had a soft spot for the Droid Factory, simply because of the 3-legged R2-D2 you could make with it. However, for those that don't know, the version which came with the Droid Factory playsets has a sticker which is a mirror image of the regular carded 2-legged R2-D2's sticker. Who knows how the error occurred, but it does at least help identify some fake stickers for the 3-legged version once you know about it .

Also, the sticker on the Kenner Droid Factory 3-Legged R2-D2 is different from the Palitoy version. Whereas the Kenner version is glossy with light blue ink, the Palitoy version is dull and matte with dark blue ink, plus has different details such as the wavy top to the uppermost horizontal blue line / bar.

Anyway, here's my one:
