I think kenner did a great job with the at-at commander figure, except the paint on the face gets damaged very easy. They should have made a moulded face variant and not a painted face.

I never understood why they did it. Since they did moulded face on the first star wars figures in 1977. Was it cheaper to paint the face ?

I distinctively remember buying one of these with a Cloud Car Pilot from Cirencester Tesco Home & Wear, when they first came out. We were on the way somewhere and my parents needed to pop into Tesco on the way. I remember parking in the street outside and dashing in with my Dad and some pocket money, while Mum went to the Tesco groceries next door.

My apologies, life's a bit manic at the moment and several new AT-AT Commander acquisitions since the last TOTW thread required new photographs to be taken, plus a tonne of cataloguing and correct Bespin blaster variant hunting / purchasing on eBay have delayed me somewhat...
