I loved the topps cards when I were a lad.. sorting through the spare red and blues today to ween out the doubles to sell, thought I'd reassemble the knackered blue ones to see if I had enough for the star wars poster.. fell a few short, but thought it was worth sharing as the image is so cool.

Love that.

Never had topps cards, but these making up the poster look superb mate.

Would it be difficult/expensive to track down the missing ones?

It would look awesome completed and framed up bud 8)

I've got a reasonably minty blue set.. but tucked away in storage. These were damaged doubles.. might try and get hold of them and do as you say. The creases actually add a little vintageness

Great stuff..think it would look great framed up, as you say the creased cards shout vintage

Love the artwork on them :D

I own all the Topps sets and they where a huge part of my childhood. You can track down the ones you need really cheap.

Yeah you can pick up sets quite reasonably. Prices vary depending on the series.

I think it a nice twist that the red series in the U.K was numbered differently, with the set beginning with 1A. I have just noticed that the colours of the U.K red set is brighter than the American ones too, especially on the reverse of the cards.

The U.S version of the set carried on from the blue set with no 67 as the first red card. Pity we didn't get the stickers with the cards like they did in the States. I'm not as keen on the red set as most of the photographs were airbrushed, making many of them appear really odd.

I'm not sure why Topps chose to stop at the red series in the U.K and why we never saw Topps cards released for ESB and ROTJ. We missed out big time compared to America.

Craig.

I have been in the process of framing a set of blues for some time, might even finish it tonight

I've got the sets for all of them + seeing that picture has inspired me!

just have to :-

1 - find the wall space
2 - find a frame big enough to hold all 3 pic's if poss!
3 - convince the missus it goes well with the rest of the decor

I've got a whole load of the original posters too, perhaps I can montage the ceiling?!?!?!?!?
