Took a gamble... Did it pay off?

Hi guys,

I saw this auction the other day last thing:

Looked at the pics and thought it may be a hollow cheeked tusken raider... I asked the guy to email me close ups, but he never did... Thought I would take a little gamble and if it wasn't good resell and probably only take a £5 max hit!!

Has the gamble paid off for me??

I am unsure about wether the cape and gaffi stick are repro, but even still... did I do okay?

Looks fine to me - can fetch anywhere between £25-£45 so you have done well there mate

Hollow Cheeked are around £40 upwards to buy and fairly difficult to lay your hands on... Last one went for £47.

Obviously not a world beater of a deal, but pretty good.

Just quite happy that :

Is the cape and gaffi stick good mate?

Gaffi stick isn't clear at any part and is alot darker brown, but i'm assuming the weapons were made differently as its a variant?

Not too sure about these.

Difficult to tell without either in hand - does the stick pass the drop and water test ? Is the cloak any thicker than your other tuskans ?

Yes mate it will!!!

The good identifier of the hollow tusken is the paint app on the sides of the mouth piece- on a genuine example the sides are unpainted like on yours
The tubes do look a little narrow, but that could be a bit of a photographic trick (not saying you have altered it)

Also the prongs on the head spread out differently to the non hollow versions- compare the two buddy and you will see plenty of differences :wink:

Misery, I just sold a Gaffi stick and now I need another one!!

The cape looks like a repro to me. Too thick IMO
The best way to tell with the gaffi is the drop test- if it sounds tinny it's repro- it should have a low dull thud if you drop it on a hard surface
