Tonigate air date on Fake Britain

Well done Jason, was great seeing you on tv - and as others have already said the programme didn't make SW collectors out to be geeks which was a bonus.

Small favour please Jason -

My sister in law phoned the house to say there was a SW programme on tv about fake toys so I causally name dropped you during the conversation "oh yeah my mate Jason is on that programme" so if you ever bump into my wife's sister please play along :D

Price of fame mate - people are going to use you :D

Sure, just gimmie the script beforehand. What accent should I have?

nice one Mr P - a natural

I recorded it and shall watch again when I'm back from work. Hopefully there will be a follow up that does out Toni in the not too distant future.

Great watch! I wasn't aware of the TT situation at all until I joined SWFUK. I have two Palitoy 65 backs that I'm now a little suspicious about, may have to see if I can get one of you guys to have a look at some point. This has brought the issue to a wider audience which is good, if people/newbies educate themselves hopefully they won't get stung.

Didnt watch it but was informed there was no mention of Toni, and the apparent Astons 'expert' called a Kenner HT a fake just by going by the card imprint on the rear.Whatever...if they dont know the difference between those, we are in a diabolical situation.

Seriously, AFA/UKG and Toni are laughing their balls off right now. I also find it ironic that many collectors who are absolutely shocked and devastated by what Toni done, are happy to pass on their Toy Tonis with a 'declared' status. That to me is both hypocrytical and laughable seeing as though many people think its ok to say 'Yeah, this is a Toni' knowing full well it will probably get passed on to other newer collectors for top dollar at some point. What do i think??? Sell the damn things for the price of an AFA loose figure and take the hit. Too many collectors 'bailed out' when this story first hit, and were quick to ensure their loss was minimal.

Still find it very strange how a vertain indivdual who started this hasnt said much on the matter-that in itself stinks to high heaven.

I hope Toni comes out with a response to this, and although it wont free him of guilt, he can make damn sure that the burden can be shared.

Try the link in Jason signature...

There is a special section on the home page about the TT's there, covers the suspect cardbacks.

Beer in one hand, Sky remote in the other other.
I'm just about to watch Jason's TV debut!

Nice one Chubb! I think that means my Vader is ok but I'm not sure about the Chewy - It's a 65 back with long bubble and bandolier offer. It looks kosher to me, the card is not pristine and the seal looks good but I still don't really know enough about cards to tell, would have to get an expert to look at it :|

I think that came across well. Such a shame that Toni wasn't named though.
Great advert for Astons.
Nice one Jason. By God that other guy had some nice stuff too!

Thanks.. Yeah unfortunately it looks exactly the same as that, doesn't have iron damage/marks on it though. Does anyone know if there were genuine Palitoy Chewy 65back long bubble bandolier offer figures released or was it only Tony who put this combo together?

You should have gone topless in protest [/quote]

Mate, look on page 2 at a Cardback i posted with a tescos price sticker. This is a known legit combo, and id say yours was good without looking at it :) assuming its like that one :)

Great job jason, i thought it was a really concise piece and will hopefully give any casual or new collectors an idea of what to look out for. A link to your cardback guide would have been ideal but i suppose the BBC cant be seen to advertise!
