I think that came out well as did you Jason, well played :)

Where's the accent from? had a bit of a west country sound to it :?:

The Highlands of Scotland watered down in London for 25 years!

 I was way off then

Personally I was very disappointed in the Fake Britain Star Wars segment. It was not mentioned that it is predominantly Palitoy Return of the Jedi cards that have been faked, particularly the German language versions. The easiest method of checking for authenticity - the waffle glue pattern under the bubble was not covered either. I'm not aware of the indentation on the back of the card being a sign of it being genuine.

As for a fake bubble being able to be removed with very little damage to the card, you might as well say that a fake burns with a blue flame instead of red when you set light to it. Nobody is going to peel their bubbles off to check the seal. Looking for light scratch marks across the front of the card was good advice though. The Ashton's auctioneer turning up was a waste of screen time as he hardly put the MOCs under the microscope and didn't come up with anything conclusive.

The advice I'd give to any collector concerned about fakes is; Check for the waffle glue pattern, beware of 100% mint condition items, do some research into ROTJ Palitoy and German language cards (do some research full stop), look for light scratch marks on the front of the card and beware of Boba Fett on a 45 Palitoy back, especially if the figure is crammed in at an angle.

Craig.

Just seen it. Mixed feelings really :!:
U came across well Jason so good job :)

However this report is a little flawed I'm afraid!
It wasn't actually said that the potential problem existed ONLY among certain types of packaging etc :!: I say this because during the commentary all sorts of packaging was being shown from Palitoy SW to Kenner Jedi and we pretty much 100% know that Toni hasn't had a hand in corrupting any of those lines :!:

A major editing flaw was when that so called SW auction expert Chris Aston came to that John Webb's house and he was looking at the back of a Kenner Jedi 65 back MOC and pointed out it could b a fake when he was actually talking about a Palitoy Jedi Hoth Trooper :!: :!: I just don't like how through much of the documentary there is commentary on details of the potential fakes whilst originals r being shown!! No problems to the likes of us serious collectors but terrible for the 'average Joe' watching and potential new collectors as they maybe totally put off investing in any vintage SW period :?

Just my genuine concerns Jason, no insults intended.

Yes, the Kenner cardback getting mixed into the 65d snowtropper bit was a bit of a howler.

The U grades made me cringe a bit too!

I had similar feelings, but like you this is no slight on Jason or his hard work on bringing this to the public's attention.

Unfortunately once they have finished interviewing him its in their hands, and as he says they are not very knowledgeable on Vintage Star Wars. But its out there now and people are talking about it and there is a buzz about it that will spread.

Well that was an interesting watch. Well done for putting your time into this Sir.

Not sure what people expected its a general interest show, shoehorning a little lighthearted toy action into the end of an otherwise dry show.
They were never going to go into such anal detail as the general public isn't interested at all in this. Show a bit of old footage, explain how much old toys are worth, and you can make fakes of anything would have been the general theme in the edit. I wonder how many people are now listing 4-Loms and Klaatus with no capes on the Bay now with a BIN of £50

Maybe we were expecting too much from it PC.

They have been doing this for years anyway...

What's really worth the money is a Chewie in a Yoda cape

Ive done a slightly better screen grab and added it as a sticky on the collecting chat page, if anyone wants to do a better edit ill alter the link.

Great Work Andy! 8)

Yeah agree with what has been said, but Jason you did a great job.

Problem is like someone else has said the general public don't really care and all this has done to them is point them towards thinking anything Star Wars and MOC is probably fake. :? But as I said you did your bit Jason and should be proud of standing up and doing something about it.

Also it made a nice change I usually watch porn (Jabba the Slutt) while ironing on a thursday morning.
