Today on Facebook...

Ah **** it. I just can't help myself.

"There's been a massive discovery in the vintage collecting world !!!"
"What, that there may be hundreds of fake baggies flooding the market ?"
"No, they've used the same figure twice in the ****ing collectors guide !"
Brilliant.

Well done on even finding those posts. All I saw were posts and posts of people pictured holding their Echo guides or their newborn babies.

I take back any comments I made about educating the members, facebook is (as many already said) completely the wrong platform.

I know I'm a hypocrite because I got sucked in a few days ago, but let's give this thread a rest guys. If something ridiculous happens sure, post it for a bit of comedy. But let's face it the majority of members of that group will be more interested in a loose figure error than fake baggies so it's not really surprising.

Credit where credit's due a couple of brave souls are now pointing out when there is price gouging, there was a For Sale post with terrible beaters at unreal rates that got challenged. Also someone is selling the new EB guide on Ebay which is going down well. Maybe people are realizing that there are many, many people that will rip other people off regardless of Group affiliation.

I'm starting to think the auction pages really aren't good for peoples expectations price wise, currently there is an imperial dignitary with 4 hours to run on £63

Without nose rubs they easily hit £65 on fleabay, one a few weeks back hit £145 !!

I questioned that one and the seller was a little surprised but at least an auction is transparent.

I'm not a fan of the auctions where the starting bid is already silly high.

Fictitious but take Imp Dig.

Starting bid £50 and £5 increments. Newbies are sucked in.

£37 for a Cloud Car Pilot...

He's a tough one, I have seen the mic alone sell for £20 odd on eBay for a long time so IMO £35ish is about right for him at the moment. But yes annoying that without the mic he is only worth about £7-8!

Been noticing a few of those auctions starting at near on market price lately... what happened to start low and let the market actually decide it's price.

Bad time for uneducated newbies now... getting sucked in and paying way over the odds.
