Hey

ok again i am still getting the hang of this.
However the forum is helping to make sense of the finer details of collecting.
I get the vintage era from star wars thru to ROTJ or POTF as thats what i knew as a kid (although all those POTF figures look like they hit the gym for it, particularly carbonite han solo who has lost his neck somehow after hitting the roids hard.

But after that it gets a bit vauge , i consider the last of the ROTJ series or run to be the final properly vintage figures. And today you have the prequel muck and some versions and takes on the "vintage line".

But in between that i am not really sure what runs or series there were, i figured that kenner (hasbro) rehashed or remade some of the vehicles when they prequels came out but i recently picked up a 1995 kenner tie which kinda puts it in limbo between real vintage and prequel vomit. Its not OTC but the wing panels are moulded not stickers (like the OTC) but other than that it is identical to my vintage ties which i have and are winging their way from other forum members.

Any ideas, on the inbetween years?

just look at the nasty packaging

they are good toys though, I got my son the 'neo-classic' DV TIE, AT-AT and Snowspeeder - all are quality items particularly the AT-AT and speeder, they have really good SFX

Ha yeah, it will never be vintage but apart from the noise lights and the moulded wing panels it looks like the mould that the old one was made in.
The box is pretty ugly.

But the question might be , in 40 years would it be classed as neo vintage and the modern prequel stuff still classed as crap :p
either way I am still gonna keep it and I might have one or two pieces of neo vintage stuff.
But I will consider them a addition to the collection :D

But I am still gonna get one of those new giant at-ats as a kid I was always annoyed as the origional was sooo outta scale. A proper size one compared to a snow speeder would have to be a greatbdane or a Shetland pony .

Ah well back to vintage after that brain fart.

go for it Imperial Nut - there was a guy at my boot sale selling a ton of the neo-classic stuff. You can get it quite cheap and the X-Wing looks good too

I was just looking at one of them on ebay. I thought about getting one of those big modern Falcons when they came out(but never did) but that big At-At is 8)
