I bought 3 moc's from a guy on ebay that had "supposedly" been in storage for 20 years. The Ackbar has me very suspicious and I was hoping some of you seasoned collectors might offer some opinions before I contact the seller about a possible return.

What concerns me:
The black on the card is a duller than any other card I have in my collection.
The hole punch has no perforations.
I thought I read that Ackbars bubble should have "feet" at the bottom.

The other cards don't look bad to me but they're all from the same seller and all have the same "Sears" price sticker on them. Also, the other two cards have completely different sizes holes.

Any input would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!

Your fine here dude- they are legit. Quite often cards are unpunched- there are more sort after!!

Welcome to the forum

yeah, I agree with Ed.

The Ackbar one did make me look twice but the other two look fine. And the B-Wing Pilot looks minty mint :)

I see the waffle glue pattern on two of the cards - the fakers can replicate that yet!

I thought one of my first MoC might have been fake - see below - a tatty card and degraded piping I know but I love my 32-back Bespin.

Anyway, I was reassured by the wise people who frequent this forum!

To make things confusing there are lots of legit cards that dont have the waffle pattern

To be honest though most of the time people dont bother to fake Jedi cards as the real ones are mostly £20-35 so there isnt the cash incentive to do so.

Its mainly 12 back SW cards that are faked as some are worth many hundreds. Having said that there are fakes of every moc about...

Normally you can tell by the colour of the cardback- fakes tend to be washed out- as if they were printed yesterday. If you are ever in doubt either ask here or compare against a moc here:

Hope that helps

Yeah they are fine. Never hesitate to ask here either in a thread or a pm to someone before buying. Better to be safe than sorry.

ps. You need to make your pics a bit smaller as they're stretching out the screen and making the thread hard to read.
