I just wanted to remind members that you need to be a little "Thick Skinned" to survive as a member on this forum. Man up...so to speak.

This is a public message from Todd.

Now for something happy and non aggressive

Dude you can't say **** like that. You may offend those folk who could do with removing some hard skin. It is slightly skinest of you.
Now get back on topic TFB

:D I agree

To be thick skinned for some people it takes a little courage, for others it comes easy, the beauty of human nature

Rudyard Kipling, wrote in my eyes one of the best poems relating to this

If.....

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And—which is more—you'll be a Man my son!

This place is quite tame these days. Not much thick skin needed. I remember what it was like when Bollux and Weasel were like back in the day LOL.

The main thing that jumped out at me while reading this page is this - why the hell did they not fix the red-eye on that Ewok girl!!!! :x Sloppy

as is the territory in any collecting, especially toys and talking about em on the net theres always the nambi pambi overly geeky nerdy soft sensitive types ,nothing wrong with that tho they are just nice guys and it just requires a little more understanding from them and not to take such offence sometimes at the smallest things said by others who arent as sensitive & civiliy tongued and understand that everyones different . i got a pm the other day :shock: from a bloke complaining that i publicly called him " a ****ing tool " after he called me something of a lesser vulgarity 1st after i said he might be wrong in what he was saying which he didnt like :lol: of course i did reply to this pm with - this mail indeed does prove beyond doubt you are a ****ing tool :lol:

Awesome poem. I'm proud that I'm distantly related to Rudyard Kipling, though i'm not quite sure how. Think he was a cousin or uncle to my great grandmother.

You know what family trees are like, make sure it wasn't Mr Kipling :lol: do you have a penchant for small cakes :D

Only joking, that's cool to be related to RK 8) awesome stuff

Haha, I wish. Could murder one of the mr kipling chocolate Mississippi mud pies right now. If I was related I doubt there'd be any shortage of mr kip products in my place.

Yeah Not so cool I was also related Stanley Baldwin, a conservative prime minister from the 1920s I think. If it has to be an MP i'd rather it was Tony Benn.

:lol:

Although I am not conservative in political persuasion, Baldwin was a decent PM for the country

He was famous for writing a letter ( under a pen name) to the times when he was chancellor of the exchequer concerned at the high costs of funding the war effort and asked the rich to contribute ( he gave a sizeable proportion of his wealth in that way and led by example) he also very sympathetically and adroitly handled the Edward and Mrs Simpson situation, when the King abdicated. Also was a leading light in abolishing the class system in the House Of Parliament, integrating the Labour Party on equal terms.

I think the current conservative leaders could take a leaf out of his book mate. bUT they wont :evil:

I don't have any famous lineage just a commoner me :D ( unless you count Citizen Smith..." Power to the People!" :lol: )
