The Walking Dead Thread

Just read the show runners for walking dead want to go for at least 12 seasons.... That might be an ask but can't fault their ambition.

Just to way in on the Dead v's GoT, love both but if I had to pick GoT wins out - better characters, better story and quite frankly a more athletically pleasing viewing experience...

One of the best shows on TV.

I get torn between this and Game of Thrones for my fav....

I am in ecstasy when the they overlap

I agree with Chubbster. Its so hard to pick a fav between this and GOT :?

I am glad they are so different so there is no need to compare :D

I love the world GOT creates, the politics and relationships, I think it just edges a preference for me. Having said that WD is what zombie fans have wanted for years, an on going look into how people might act after a zombie apocolypse, and still shocking after 4 season.

GOT had the red wedding with the famous throst slitting, WD had 4 of these without mention in S5 ep01. Which was edited for UK viewers. Watched it online, blood everywhere

You are spot on Monkey, but WD has got a shock factor like nothing I have seen on TV before.

I think they are defined and limited by their sources.

WD based on a comic, shallower characters, shock factor but real good escapism popcorn viewing.

GOT based on the novels, more complex, deeper characters, really concentrate on the plot and try not to miss the smallest detail.

If I was pushed I would go with GOT.

LOL, I'm yet to watch an episode of GOT. Anygood ?.

OMG grant you will love it ! i never saw a single episode until last year and now i am upto date and just waiting for the new series to start , you wont be disapointed trust me

as good as GOT is i have to say nothing beats the walking dead for me , i am a huge zombie fan

I'm like Grant, never seen any GOT episodes. Several people at work keep telling me to watch it but I never have, didn't seem like my kind of show. After reading these posts I'm going to give it a go, I've got some time of work soon so I can watch them all over the course of a week.
I did the same with Father Ted, didn't see a single episode until 2010 when I caught an episode at a friends house, absolutely loved it, then bought the box set the next day and watched the whole series in 2 days, thinking how could I have missed something so brilliant for so long?

Fek

Ok guys, I'll PUT GOT on my to watch list along with Breaking Bad. Watched the first 2 episodes of that only but heard it gets really good.

Wow - you missed out on breaking bad as well... Five Awsome seasons there, one of the best shows ever made.

Season five of game of thrones starts next April so plenty of time to get upto speed ahead of the new season.

Yup dive into GOT

It is time well spent, escapism of the highest order 8)

Awesome. Both of them are on my radar now to be watched. Escapism is always good. 8)

Another top drawer episode last night! 8) :D

Rick Rocks!

Brutal. Bit of a shame they didn't continue that story a little further. But, it reflected the situation in the comics possibly better than I could have imagined.

Last line of the episode was weird, and apparently we'll have to wait two weeks for that to be resolved. Bastards.

Glad Rick killed Gareth with the red handled machete, as he promised. The tainted meat bit went nowhere though.

The close up of the machete was classic 8)

Ricks a lucky man, they were big words considering he didn't have a clue Carol was about to jump start the party.

It was a shame the tainted meat ting didn't go further but it has been left open, it might rear its head again at some point.

Great episode, looking forward to seeing where Beth has been taken next week.

i dont think the tainted meat was designed to go anywhere other than to goad the cannibals and show them up to be a rag tag bunch with out a solid plan. Hershel was bitten, had his leg cut off and survived. Bob seemed okay for a day or two.

be fun to explore a rotting zombie with a brain still working normally. maybe we'll see the remains of gareth's dismembered body climb out of his grave and still be plotting revenge. Or that guy Tyreese knocked to a pulp. He was highly amusing.

However, I'm glad its moving swiftly on. Terminus arc has lasted a long time if you think it started early last season with people seeing the signs.

Rick is becoming as brutal as he is at times in the comic. That's a good thing.

i think its veering into a comic style hero story now though, its no longer a realistic survival show, they have been in so many situations where most should have died and they all survive and live to fight another hostage situation.

Dont get me wrong i love it, but i would have liked a more realistic survival based on an apocalypse, and just how the zombies keep moving years after their muscles have dried up annoys me :)
